Dear Friends of Caldwell University,

Once again it is my privilege and honor to recognize and acknowledge our alumni, donors and friends who generously support our mission and in turn contribute to our continued success.

This past year was filled with many proud accomplishments. First and foremost, Caldwell University continues to receive accolades and recognition by U.S. News & World Report. This year, Caldwell is ranked #1 in New Jersey as a Best Value College for Regional Universities in the North, which has resulted in a record-breaking number of applications and increased enrollment. This fall, we opened our doors to over 500 new students, including 450 freshmen.

In addition to increased enrollment, Caldwell University continues to adapt its academic offerings to meet the growing needs of the economy. This fall, we launched three new academic degree programs: a bachelor’s degree in eSports Management, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an online master’s degree in Nursing in Population Health.

One of my favorite moments this fall was the dedication and blessing of the Sister Mary Dominic Tweedus Chapel on September 20, 2019. Over one hundred and fifty guests joined us for the opening mass, and more than fifty alumni, donors and friends made gifts in support of this project. The relocation of the chapel could not have been made possible without the generous support from alumni and friends. The chapel not only reaffirms our identity as a Catholic Dominican institution but serves as a sacred space at the heart of our campus for all.

Another important occasion this year was the dedication of the Eileen Jones Multicultural Center which opened on May 9, 2019. This center was made possible through a very generous gift from Eileen Jones ’57 before she passed earlier this year. Eileen was the first African American student to graduate from Caldwell College for Women. She was truly a pioneer in many ways and credits her education at Caldwell for laying the groundwork for success in her life. This new center not only honors Eileen’s legacy, but supports students from all cultures at Caldwell as we continue to serve an ever-growing diverse student body.

Once again, many of these accomplishments could not be possible without the philanthropic support we receive from alumni, donors and friends. Thank you for your ongoing generosity. I wish you a Happy New Year. I hope that 2020 brings you and your family blessings of good health, joy, and peace.

Sincerely,

Nancy H. Blattner, Ph.D., OPAPresident

FROM THE PRESIDENT

The university was founded in 1939 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
