We say good bye to the Year 6 students as they finish and start to prepare for the next stage of their life at secondary school. They will leave with the skills to see them succeed at secondary school, academically and socially. We wish them well for the future. To the families whose time at Cairnlea Park is ending on Friday, we thank you for your support during your time here. At the end of every school year, some teachers also move on and we thank and give our best wishes to Ms Mountain, Ms Anderson, Ms Isla and Mrs Donnelly. In 2019 we will see the return of Mr Hardy after 12 months teaching at Badgers Creek, Mrs Young and Mrs Pearce are both returning from family leave. We will also be welcoming one new staff member Mr William Southall. Christmas Concerts Last week we held our annual Christmas concerts in the gym. Once again we had fantastic parental support over the 3 nights as the students put on a wonderful show for our families. I thank the teachers and children for their efforts and the parents and families for being wonderful audiences on each of the nights. Year 6 Graduation Our Year 6 Graduation was held on Tuesday night at the Quin Auditorium at Caroline Chisholm College. The Year 6 students looked very impressive in their outfits and thoroughly enjoyed the night. The award winners are listed below. Principal Award – Chantelle Tan 6HD Citizenship Awards - Lataia Aue and Tyson Luang-Le Leadership Awards - Sinjon Bhatti and Jamila Mezensoff Academic Awards - 6NK- Cecilia Nguyen, 6MW- Melvin Tan, 6SF- Aiden Truong , 6SB - Nathan Le, 6HD- Vivianne Nguyen Excellence Awards - 6NK- Lyric Wells, 6HD - Amy Phommahaxay, 6MW- Lynn Chia, 6SF- Tina Mai, 6SB - Dior Plotek Specialist Awards - PE- Gabriel Aldieri and Talia Huynh, Art - Nhu Ly, Performing Arts- Emilija Sabec Italian- Jessica Thompson December Reports Children’s reports were made available on the COMPASS Parent Portal on Wednesday 19 th December. Please make sure you access your child’s report to get an accurate picture of their progress this year. 2019 School Captains At assembly today our 2019 School Captains and Vice Captains were announced. The students were voted into these positions by their peers after presenting a speech to their fellow students. Our new captains are: Girls School Captain – Hailey Le Boys School Captain – Ricardo Vom Girls Vice Captain – Jasey Pham Boys Vice Captain – Tim Quin I would like to acknowledge the fine job our 2018 Captains and Vice Captains have done throughout the year. To Jessica Thompson, Brandon Tran, Chantelle Tan and Andy Diep thank you and good luck at secondary school. In closing for this year, best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Principal’s Report
This is our final newsletter for the school year. We say good bye to the Year 6 students as they finish and start to prepare for the next stage of their life at secondary school. Second Hand Uniforms If you have any uniform items that your children have grown out of,
please consider donating them to the second-hand uniform shop.
The items must be washed and clean & in good condition.
Items can be handed in at the office.
All proceeds from the uniform shop are donated to State
School Relief. Thank you.

2019 Enrolments Enrolments for next year are being taken for children who live in the Cairnlea estate and siblings of students currently attending Cairnlea Park Primary. Due to our enrolment restrictions we are unable to accept any enrolments from families who live outside the Cairnlea estate.
Parents are required to supply the following information when enrolling: Proof of residence in Cairnlea Proof of age (birth certificate or passport) Immunisation certificate
BIRTHDAYS AT SCHOOL If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday at school,
please do not send in large cakes.
Alternatively, send cupcakes (due to food allergies, a list of ingredients
is required), donuts or lolly bags.
Please let the teacher know in advance that you are planning to do this.
Instagram - Cairnlea Park Primary School
The school has an Instagram page, for parents to view, where we will be
showcasing students’ work. Students’ names will not be used.
