d) Legal Status of the Organization

02. Background: Kolkata Priyodorshini is a local non-political Organization. It has been established on

the auspicious day of 8th October, 2012 at the General Meeting at Kolkata , attended by

many elite persons from different villages from different districts of Howrah, Kolkata,

North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Mednipur,Jalpaiguri &

Cooch-Behar. This Local NGO was formed according to the willingness of the

community people in a view to deal with the then socio-economic problems in

different villages by means of good understanding and sharing the problems to each

other and to find out the best way of solving the problems through free discussion and

people participation in the decision making and get-together under an umbrella of KP

Organization.

03. Year of Establishment: - Kolkata Priyodorshini established in 2012. 04. Project Activities: Kolkata Priyodorshini activities started from 2013. 05. Vision, Mission and Goal:

5.1. Vision: Kolkata Priyodorshini visualized a society-poverty free, socially, economically self-reliant

and conscious about basic rights and human dignity.

5.2: Mission Statement:

The organization is working and assisting the needy and neglected people from grass root

level and find access to sustain in the society with due dignity. Therefore KP will take all

necessary initiatives /measures towards empowerment and self-determinations of

community people enabling them to solve their own socio-economic problems by themselves

towards poverty elevation.

5.3: Goal: To help and develop the distressed, needy, neglected people with very poor economically

around Kolkata and simultaneously in the different areas of south 24 Pargana District as

well as across West Bengal socially and economically by providing them necessary

assistance for sustaining their lives and conditions specially the women and children as well.


08. Aims and objectives of the Organization:

KP is working towards achieving the following objectives for the benefit of its target group the poor, socially and

economically deprived people.

To create awareness among the poorest people

on prevailing socio-economic situation and

encourage them for active participation in

training for jobs and business development

program for Rural, Semi Urban, Tribal areas

in West Bengal.

To undertake suitable projects and

programs with special emphasis job

creation through joined up working in

groups, through co-operatives and setting

up small businesses.

Formation of SHG and undertake skill

development training programs for

SHG/Women society/ Unemployed youth on

handicraft, handloom, power loom, leather

item, soft toy horticulture and, animal

husbandry /composting toilets,organic

farming / vermin culture, and assist them

by giving them short/ long term loan from

micro finance programme / Bank linkage


from Government Agency/ Bank/ PSU for

creating sources of income by themselves

by implementing SHG Programme and prepared

them for different project/ help them to

submit different project for improving

socio economic structure of the rural

people/ SC/ Tribal / Minority Community

and other distress people in rural area /

financially backward people as per given

guide line from Government / Semi

Government/ PSU/ other NGO unit as a

project motivator and motivate them to

recover the taken loan from the source

and create self-employed through Small

Scale Industry , which is called Self-

Employed Project of the NGO.

To establish manageable Training Centre

for Community Development Training for

various level of people.

To establish, set up of Training Centre

(Vocational) like Computer Training

Centre, Health & Hygiene, Training of

Small Scale Industries, Jute Product, E-

Commerce, Para Medical, Physiotherapy,


Medical Transcriptions, Multimedia Film &

Television Institute

To Set sanitation programme as required by

the Government and try to create villages

free from open defecation.

To establish, run and support Health Care

Centre, Technical Training Centre,

Schools, (Both Bengali & English Medium

with residential) , College, University

(both Academic & Professional and

including IIT, Engineering , Medical, Para

Medical) , IT Institution, Different

Management College for enlighten the

rural /tribal people from the light of

education and provide the necessary

information regarding higher studies at

home and abroad and do all such other

things as may be benefit for the community

Establishment of Hospitals / Pathological

Centre / Counseling Centre / Research

Centre for AIDS & Cancer and other blood

disease for the economical deprived rural

/tribal / and other people.


To help needy students of all communities

for all purpose.

To establish, set up all the project /

Government of India and several State

Government / agencies seeking the goal of

redressing poverty and improving health

status/ socio economic status of common

people.

Arrangement of Women Leadership Programme

for Women empowerment, legally aware

duties of Consumer Act of Government to

make them organizing, mobilizing,

developing capacity and skills and

creating provision of inclusion in

decision making process in family and

community enabling, them to become

economically and socially independent and

prepare them to combat against dowry

system, drug addiction etc.

Arrangement of awareness camp on

Superstitions, value of nutrition and

food, Proper family planning and birth

control, Improper time of marriage among


girls, Consumer Right, Legal Aid, Fire

Safety programme in different rural

areas, Child labor etc. and other

programme taken by Government time to time

for social development.

Awareness to the student and general

public, how to save country? How to make

an excellent nation? How to remove social

problem? How to protect himself, herself

overall others during natural calamity,

war and other disorders of society and how

to make a good father to next generation?

To undertake suitable projects and

programs with special emphasis on Primary

Health Care/Family Planning & Family

Welfare/ Comprehensive Rural

Development/Preservation of

environment./AIDS control etc.

To undertake different programme on

health, education and socio economic

development and awareness generating

programme for economically backward

people from minority community but not

enlighten on the basis focus of religious

matter. The organization have not

undertake any programme which has a

religious effect.

Ensure cost effective community-based

affordable and easy access health service

especially for women and children (Primary

health, antennal and postnatal).

To assist deserving poor people by means

of giving them short term loan for

creating income generating through micro

finance programme.

To establish manageable Training Centre

for Community Development Training for

various level of people.

To print or publish periodical magazines,

books, pamphlets, leaflets or booklets

that the KP may considered desirable or

helpful in the promotion of its objects.


Supply relief and rehabilitation items /

safe drinking water/ other logistic

support as per our availability or relief

and rehabilitation at the time of any

manmade / natural disaster.

To plan and execute Development, Relief

and Rehabilitation programs and

participating different Road Safety

programme within the terms of objects of

the Kolkata Priyodorshini.

To establish, Set up Historical Research

Institute, Institute for Cultivation of

Indian Medicinal Plant, etc.

Arrangement of different educational tour

for the upliftment of knowledge of

students and make the society healthy.

To set up Hostel for student & working

women.

To arrange and maintain night school for

literacy purpose, free coaching class for

poor student.


To establish / set up short Stay Home,

Destitute Home for Orphan/ Street beggers

/ mentally and physically challenged

people, Old Age Home etc for Senior

Citizen.

Set up a volunteer team for quick response

of aged, sick, helpless and indigent

person by giving them round the clock

service by providing attendant,

arrangement of medical facilities /

essential services and give them shelter

to the lap of this organization till their

last breath.

Protection and preservation of culture,

language and tradition of tribal

indigenous people.

To seek and receive subscriptions,

donations and other supports from persons,

institutions or Organizations both from

home and abroad and use the same for the

purposes of the Organization; however for

receiving and utilizing any foreign


donation or contributions, or support the

organization shall abide by all.

Set up of train Composting Toilets for

help the rural people for abide by the

total sanitation programme by the

Government.

To built low cost house for homeless

people as per guide line of Government.

To establish food and vegetable and cold

storage and processing units. To establish

packaging units and use of multipurpose

cold storage for preservation and

transportation with a view for improving

the socio-economic conditions of rural

women.

Taking different programme, projects for

the better improvement / development of

tribal people who are really financially

backlogged people.

To provide the poor families / tribal

families with low cost nutritious food.


Undertake sustainable project / Grant-in-

Aid projects / comprehensive projects in

different economical backward area i.e.

tea garden worker, mine worker, brick

field worker etc.

To increase individual and national income

utilizing the huge natural resources of

rural India.

To set up community halls for the various

entertainment and general programme.

To set up a TV Channel and developing on

line training for Rural women in

particular. There will be also option for

training on line for academic

qualifications.

Arrangement of skill development training

in different villages in different areas

which are suitable for local conditions.


Arrangement of First Aid & Fire Fighting

Training to rural people to combat the

fire at the early stage.

Preparation of dedicated Fire Disaster

Response Team to cope up any fire,

flooding , earthquake, famine incident for

safe the property and life at the village

level.

Taking different project on Handloom,

Handcraft in the rural area for

preparation of Craft Bazaar, Craft

exhibition.

Preparation of Handloom, Handicraft

cluster and making awareness programme and

arrangement of Intrigued handloom and

handicraft training programme.

Skill Development training on Handloom and

handicraft for making School uniform,

uniform for Hospital, nursing home,

Private and Government sector for economic

development for the SHG / Women Group

/Tribal area and other distress people.


Arrangement different programme, grant-in-

aid programme for socio-economic

development of fisherman and latest

scientific fish cultivation.

Taking different programme on ecotourism

for socio-economic development of the

people who are stay at different tourist

place in Bengal and other area, maintain

and creation / beautification of different

garden etc.

Arrangement of different training on

proper utilization of fertilizer,

scientific cultivation on winter crop /

monsoon crop / floriculture /

horticultures and other project for the

development of marginal farmer.

Arrangement of workshop on different

programme i.e. dance/drama/art/ handcraft

/ handloom/ farming /folk / tribal culture

etc.

At the outset, I am thankful to all

the members of this non government

organization for giving me the chance to

work for them.

We want to work round the clock for

the better economic development of the SHG

members of all over west Bengal & make

them self dependent.

Demographic condition says that a

huge number of the SHG women are


previously engaged with the farming &

stitching profession. So it is easier to

start the projects in a systematic way

which can substance life long and grab the

hard market in the window period of the

garments cluster and bio farming products.

Our members are engaged themselves

for stitching different items, but we want

to do this in a systematic way as I said

before. We want to implement different

technique for better development of them.

Taking different programme on social

mobilization like preparedness of flood,

maintain total sanitation, awareness to

prevent dengue, malaria etc.

Our earnest request to all to extend

helping hand and enlighten us by your

kindness for our better development by

giving different chances, work order etc.

I have over 2 lakhs of women with me

in entire West Bengal. They are like water

to me. Every time I takes a good care of

them and I know they are also with me till


I have my last breath. At the end of the

message my stock of word is so little to

give them thanks once again.

PAST ACTIVITIES OF KOLKATA PRIYODORSHINI Kolkata priyodorshini was successfully managed these events since 2013 to 2019 and continuing

1. Dept.of SC,ST and OBC Development Corporation of West Bengal has been selected our NGO for our

handicraft items as unique item and they have given the responsibilities to trained the SHG women in

Howrah at Bally Jagacha and Domjur Block in cluster manner.

2. We have given skill development training in 11 different villages of south 24 pgs for co-operatives societies

(south 24 pgs Govt.of West Bengal)

3. 10 Blood donation and Health camps in many villages of Howrah, Kolkata, South 24 Pargana &

Jalpaiguri.

4. Skill Development Training programmed -Tailoring, Loom, Semi power loom, Handloom & Handcraft to

SHG women in Jalpaiguri, South 24 Pargana & Howrah and Hooghly..

5. Child care programmed distributions of books, shoes & uniforms to over thousands of students of many

districts.

6. Farmers Training Camp Learn them modernized cultivation system and use of fertilizer in South 24

Pargana.

7. Total Sanitation Programme Construction of one pit latrines in South 24 Pargana Bhangore Block-II.

8. Construction of low cost house in South 24 Pargana.Bhangore Block-II

9. Awareness Community Based Disaster Preparedness, Fire safety and get awarded.

10. We have given thousands of hen chicks , goats, ducks to the bellow poverty level women to increase there

growth of income.

11. We installed many machines in many villages which can cold the drinking water in minutes.

12. We have constructed 21 compost bio-toilet at phoolbari hatgacha and polerhat-I in bhangar I and ii south

24 parg district.

13. We have organized umbrella hand painting workshops in south 24 parg, howrah north bengal and trained

1000 women for the production in the future.

14. We have organized jewelry making workshops in south 24 parg, howrah north bengal and trained 600

women for the production in the future.

15. We have organized food processing workshops in south 24 parg, howrah north bengal and trained 700

women for the production in the future.
