2. CAID DE CAPONET - Not once out of the first three this season. Goes barefoot for the first time and from the front line can impose

3. BEAUJEU - Began the season in good order but unplaced in his last two and needs to reaffirm

4. CAPORAL DE LARRE - In the frame in three of his last four. Well positioned in front and looks a serious player

5. BORN TO RUN - Enjoying a productive run of form. Steps up in class but should nonetheless acquit himself honourably

6. CONCERTO GEDE - Very hard to knock at present. Won nicely at Vichy late last month and although fully shod can still make his presence felt

7. BOMBO DE CARENTONE - Not the most reliable but is proven at the venue and will generate some interest

8. BYE BYE SOMOLLI - Has done nothing of note for almost three years and can be confidently ruled out

9. CASIMIR DE SURVIE - Has pleased for the most part this season. Gave a solid account over track and trip ten days ago and even with the extra 25m to travel he must still be respected

10. CORAGGIO - Blows hot and cold but has considerable merit. Left a good impression at Lisieux last time and with stride in check can challenge for a spot in the first three

11. CHERI CHERI - Finished in the frame in two of last three. Starts on the second row though and must be at his best

12. COSMOS PERRINE - Significantly better horse in the claiming division and will struggle to make any impact

13. CADET JOYEUX - Form has begun to regress in recent weeks and with shoes back on is unlikely to influence the outcome

14. BAMBI D'AUBRAC - Won two of his three starts at the venue but is fully shod this time around and can be passed over

15. COCO FLANEL - Solid dual-purpose sort that has nothing to prove at this level. Second start back and with shoes off can return to winning ways

16. BOSS DU MARNY - Gives a decent account of himself for the most part. Was not disgraced over course and distance two weeks ago and can make the first five this time

Summary Barring the occasional stride problem (15) COCO FLANEL seldom disappoints and with shoes off for his second start back can win this. (2) CAID DE CAPONET however breaks from the front and going barefoot for the first time could cause him some concern. (4) CAPORAL DE LARRE is back at the top of his game and looks a live place chance, as does (10) CORAGGIO as long as he can keep his action together. (6) CONCERTO GEDE incurs no penalty here and on present form could prove something of a spoiler.

3. ALCESTE DU GOUTIER - Kicked the season off nicely but has completely lost his way since and can be written off

4. ATOLL DANOVER - Complicated type that has been out of the picture in his last four and in this company has no realistic chance

5. YANKEE'S PHOTO - Regularly gives his best but no closer than sixth in his last four. Nivard drafted in this time which could make all the difference

6. VIVALDI D'AMBOISE - Has finished close on numerous occasions this season. Up against tough opposition this time but has a good turn of foot which can be put to good use under these conditions

7. CITIZEN KANE - Serious sort that is proven in a better class. Prepped nicely at Graignes two weeks ago and with shoes off this time should play a leading role

8. CANTIN DE L'ECLAIR - Fine class of horse with an enviable strike rate. Won with ease on comeback at Enghien six days ago. Remains barefoot and breaking from the front line can only enhance his already good prospects

9. VENKATESH - Speedy type that appreciates this kind of track. Finished runner-up to Timoko on penultimate start. Has never raced right-handed but has the class and maturity to overcome

10. ULEXA DES PLANS - Ended last season on a low note and has picked up where she left off. Shoes on and chances limited

11. BALTIC CHARM - Trotter with considerable talent but regularly shows a lack of discipline. Shoes back on here but if applied should not be far off the mark

12. URSA MAJOR - Mare of some ability but latest results do little to inspire confidence and others preferred

13. CYPRIEN DES BORDES - Fine dual-purpose horse that seldom disappoints. Comes here fresh but fully shod. Can still be however be considered a decent outside chance

14. BUGSY MALONE - Tough campaigner with a big engine. Not currently at his most effective but if on form can make a big impact

15. TIGER DANOVER - Has looked very ordinary for some time and has no realistic chance

16. ALIENOR DE GODREL - Consistently races in good company and always gives her best. Drops back in class and looks a respectable place chance

Summary (8) CANTIN DE L'ECLAIR put in an exceptional effort to win on his return to competition last weekend. He stays shod and from the front line looks the horse to beat. The hardy (7) CITIZEN KANE appears to be back at his best and should prove the toughest challenger on this occasion. If (9) VENKATESH can reproduce his penultimate performance he should be able to go close, but will have to be at his best to oppose an on-form (14) BUGSY MALONE. (16) ALIENOR DE GODREL has not won a race for almost a year but she consistently gives her best and a spot in the first five looks well within her reach.

3. DREAM DU LIROT - Won two on turf before disappointing at Le Mont-Saint-Michel last weekend and will need to find significantly more

4. DIEGO DE MIENNAIS - Gives a decent account for the most part when applied. Steps up in class but should not be too far off the mark

5. DIWAN LORIETTE - Occasionally shows his good side but too infrequently to warrant much support

6. DIWANN NEMO - Modest individual that has done nothing noteworthy for three months and will again have his work cut out

7. DYNAMIQUE STYLE - Has shown better aptitude since racing unshod but still has a lot more to find

8. DASSERO - Mixes the good with the less good but pleased at Vire three weeks ago and on similar form can figure prominently

9. DERBY D'EPSOM - Got straight back in the game following the break. Ideally placed on the front line and should open his seasonal account

10. DRAKKAR DES PINS - Not much to like on his formsheet. Still a maiden from 29 and not about to change his status

11. DIORICIMO D'EVA - Complicated trotter but not devoid of talent. Scored over shorter at Vichy a fortnight back but the extra 25m reduces his chances

12. DJIBOUTIEN - Useful but not the most trustworthy. Disappointing in both return starts and can be passed over

13. D'ACCORD MAESTRO - Just once out of the frame from six. First start for five months but still good enough to finish in the money

Summary (9) DERBY D'EPSOM has impressed in both racecourse appearances this season and has a solid opportunity of imposing here. (2) DONOVAN DARK also breaks from the front and could well complement his two recent wins with a third. The capable (13) D'ACCORD MAESTRO makes his first start for five months but must still be afforded respect. (8) DASSERO gave a good account last time out and can pick up a few Euros if in similar condition.

Race 4 1. BAMBINO DU PRE - Opened his ridden account at Vichy earlier in the month but can expect to find this a much stiffer test and others preferred this time

2. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY - Delicate but has significant talent. Was full of running when sanctioned here last week and if applied this time should figure prominently

3. AH MON IDYLLE - Unseen in this code for the past 19 months but has decent credentials and should not be written off

4. CASSATE - Comes to Cabourg off a hat-trick of wins and latterly a G.II at Vincennes. Breaks from the front and hard to see her being beaten

5. CUISE LA MOTTE - Well-regarded mare but has little room for manoeuvre and is unlikely to scare the opposition

6. BRUYERE DU RIB - Seldom out of the first three in ridden competition. Fell foul of the stewards last time but should bounce back and can make the first five

7. BIJOU D'AUVILLIER - Nothing to show for his efforts for the past six months and will struggle to make his presence felt

8. BAYERN - Has returned rewardingly from her break but needs to find more in order finish in the money this time

9. BRISE DE L'ALBA - Consistently gives her best and although no longer a top level player can still finish in the mix

10. CATALOGNE - Very hard to fault when racing unshod. Carefully prepared for this event and looks a serious player particularly from the front line

11. AVENTURIER CEHERE - Enjoyed a very rewarding 2016 but completely off the boil this year and can be ruled out

12. VOLCAN D'OCCAGNES - Last made the frame late last year. Has two races in him this term but offers little hope

13. UPPERCUT DU HOULET - Has done nothing of note for the past nine months and is not about to buck the trend

14. BOLIDE JENILOU - Complicated type but has talent in spades. Sanctioned in his last two but on good behaviour will have a major role to play

15. ULKA DES CHAMPS - Dependability not her strong suit but is a tough sort when on form and should appreciate the flatter track

Summary (4) CASSATE has never been as good as she is at the moment. Given the nature of her latest G.II success she will be hard to beat from the front line. (2)

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY's form is not in doubt and with application can give her something to consider. (10) CATALOGNE seldom lets the side down in this discipline and after two harness preps looks set to get back down to business. (14) BOLIDE JENILOU also has good references in this code and despite the extra 25m should not be far from the action.

2. CASSIUS DU GIFFRE - Rarely disappoints when unshod. First time barefoot and should garner significant support

3. COROT DE VANDEL - Approaching his best level. Third to Cyclone De Baffais at Lisieux earlier in the month and should again finish in the frame

4. CASPER BASS - Swung back into form over the past six weeks. Left quite the impression at Caen last time and is not incapable of going one better

5. CHARLY D'OMMEEL - Gave a good account over a mile at Vichy when unshod behind two weeks ago. Four shoes off for the first time and looks a player once more

6. CHIQUITO DE LOU - Still a maiden from 31. Out of the picture in his last four and unlikely to influence the result

7. CECTAR - Frequently a question of all-or-nothing for this one but disappointing in last two and not easy to trust

8. CHER AMI - Has never been in better shape. Demolished his personal best at the weekend and with shoes off this time has an outstanding chance of returning to winning ways

9. CHEYOTTE TURGOT - Has enjoyed a change in fortune over the past two months. In better company this time but can still play a small part

10. CYCLONE DE BAFFAIS - Confirmed at Cabourg. Surprise winner at Lisieux on penultimate start but a repeat highly unlikely

11. COLONEL BLACK - In good shape for the most part. Unplaced in last two but entrusted to a top driver this time and redemption appears to be on the cards

12. CHEESECAKE - Showed promise earlier in the year but has been off the boil since April and will struggle to leave his mark

13. CARAT DE CHAHAINS - Respectably consistent trotter but has no love affair with Cabourg and can be passed over

14. CAP NORD - Regularly acquits himself competitively and with shoes off this time can finish in the mix

15. CALIN DE FOURCHES - Began to be troubled by stride problems late last season. Has picked up where he left off and needs to reassure

16. CORSAIRE DU BOLONG - Erratic but not without merit. Remains shod and chances limited

Summary (8) CHER AMI backs up just five days after beating his best time and with shoes off for the occasion has every chance. He can nonetheless expect some resistance from (4) CASPER BASS who has twice finished on the cusp recently. (3) COROT DE VANDEL is back at the top of his game and will have a lot to offer. (5) CHARLY D'OMMEEL got back on track at Vichy last time and should be able to finish in the mix. (2) CASSIUS DU GIFFRE goes first time barefoot and is next best.

2. EIELSON - Delicate but has massive potential and can win this if he can keep his action together

3. ESSENTIAL CHARM - In the frame in his last three. Finished ahead of Expert Castelets last time and will have his supporters

4. ECLAIR DE LAUMONT - Sanctioned more often than not including over course and distance last week and cannot expect much support

5. EXIL D'ERABLE - Starting to make good on his promise. Opened his account on turf earlier in the month and should give another competitive account

6. ESPOIR ROSE - Moderate trotter that occasionally puts on a good show but will find this a tough ask

7. EARLY MARCH - Enjoyed a good run before surprisingly flopping at Mauquenchy last time but should bounce back with a more rewarding effort here

8. EXPERT CASTELETS - Consistently gives his best. A place behind Essential Charm at Caen late last month but not an obvious first-five chance on this occasion

9. ELNINO MONTAVAL - Got straight back in the game on comeback at Amiens eight days ago and although stepping up in class can still make an impact

10. ELOGIO TEJY - Has so far shown better aptitude for the other code and not an obvious choice

11. ENCANTO - In the thick of things for the most part. Disappointed at Caen last time but is not one to be underestimated. Interesting outsider

12. ELISIO VICTORY - Has been demonstrating good form under the saddle and returns to harness racing with legitimate ambition. Place chance

13. ENVOL SOMOLLI - Has come good in recent weeks with two successive victories. Tough winner last time and can make it three on the trot

14. ELAN DU ROCHER - Very solid so far going right-handed. Unlikely to score here but can pick up a minor-place cheque

Summary The well-regarded (13) ENVOL SOMOLLI has been flying of late and should be good enough to make it three wins in a row. He can however expect opposition from the delicate Allaire-trained (2) EIELSON who will be dangerous if he can maintain stride. If (12) ELISIO VICTORY's ridden form transitions he should go

close, as should (5) EXIL D'ERABLE despite the step up in class.

2. EDENE L'AUVERGNIER - Looked very ordinary on debut at Saint-Malo earlier in the month and unlikely to worry the opposition

3. ESPERANZA DE BARB - Disqualified in both racecourse appearances and will need to get her house in order

4. ELENA DU BOCAGE - No closer than seven from 4 to date. Modest first time back and can be disregarded

5. ETORKIZUNA - Yet to show any aptitude for the game. Switches code for the first time but chances limited

6. EVOLENE D'EBANE - Qualified nicely but has yet to express herself properly and can be passed over on this occasion

7. ELKA D'AUCHY - Last of five in tougher company at Vincennes first time under the saddle. Drops in class but still not an obvious choice

8. EMMA D'ELOI - Never closer than fifth from four outings under the saddle and needs to show marked improvement

9. ENSOLEILLEE - Posted her best score at Lisieux eight days ago and is sure to generate some interest

10. ELITE DU SURF - Has come on nicely in her last three and latterly finished a place behind Etoile Du Pavillon at Ecommoy but no more than a minor place chance this time

11. ENDORPHINE - Filly with significant means in this discipline. Sanctioned due to jockey error last time and should make a big impact this time around

12. EGERIE - Reassured in the provinces twelve days ago after flopping on debut last month. On similar form can finish in the money

13. ETOILE DU PAVILLON - Left a good impression at Ecommoy last time and should be able to play a small part here

14. ELVIRA FLIGNY - Delicate sort under harness but won her only start in ridden competition and with stride in check can make it two for two

15. ERIPREE DU GOUTIER - Won on debut under harness here late last year. Has two races under her belt and looks a decent prospect first time in ridden competition

16. ETINCELLE DU SURF - Has looked very ordinary since returning to competition and will need to raise her game

17. EVIDENTLY - Has demonstrated good aptitude for the other code and has

ideal conditions under which to make her ridden debut. Claim

18. ESHALLA - Complicated filly but is not entirely without merit. Can play a small role provided she can keep her stride in check

Summary Winner of her only ridden start to date the delicate (14) ELVIRA FLIGNY will not be easy to beat if she can stay in stride. (17) EVIDENTLY has shown decent aptitude under harness and has a legitimate chance of going close on her first appearance in ridden competition. (11) ENDORPHINE is a very promising type that also looks in with a decent shout but Abrivard must give her a better chance this time around. The useful (15) ERIPREE DU GOUTIER goes with a saddle on her back for the first time but should be race-fit by now and can figure prominently. Race 1 1. ADOUR - Binary type, either disqualified or at the podium. Second under saddle here July 7 so form is excellent. Latest win came at Chatelaillon-La Rochelle May 28 clocking a good 1'15'3. All or nothing once again.

2. AND DE BOLERO - With Eric Raffin entering the sulky chances are that he could spring a surprise. The form is a questionmark and latest win going left handed came in 2015. He won at Meslay-du-Maine April 24. Shoes off all around as usual

3. APOLOGUE - Showed some form in a claimer latest. Seems a little out of his league here. Has never won going fully shod and is racing with shoes off today which is a plus. Best watched.

4. A TROIS DE BOTZ - Very consistent in amateur races on the grass lately. Handles this surface but is only an outsider.

5. ATOUT MAJEUR - No form at all last couple of years and the latest win came in 2014. Impossible to believe in and passed over

6. ARGENT DU CHENE - Return to a left handed course could help but no form at all and the latest win came in 2014. Has been third here a couple of years ago so the track will suit. Passed over.

7. ALABAMA BLUE - No form at all this year. Racing barefoot all around as usual. Hit the podium here in 2014. Not likely to repeat that here from a penalty.

8. ACT OF LOVE - The latest win came in 2015 and has shown nothing since then. Passed over

9. ANGEL HEART - Won here last August clocking 1'15''1 at the same distance. The form is hardly impressive but is an outsider despite the penalty.

10. ANDA DE CIGNE - Latest win came in October 2016 atLes Sables-d'Olonne. Must improve on her recent form but is capable enough to grab a place.

11. A DREAM DES OBEAUX - Hasn't seen a track since August 2016. Will probably need the race and others preferred.

12. AZUR DES COUPERIES - Disqualified in both comeback races this year.

Should be fit and goes without shoes today. Outsider.

13. ALBANIEN - Loves this track and has never missed the podium in four starts here (one win). The form is ok and major contender.

14. ALI DE SAINT MARC - Fourth in a Quinte + at Enghien July 6. That form reads very well here and should finish in the mix. Assisted by Jean-Michel Bazire he is the one to beat.

15. AMOUR DE LA VIE - Won two Quinte + races in a row last autumn and has the class to win this. Has been complicated this year but with stride in check he is an outsider

16. ANGE DU PALAIS - Won here July 22 last year. Comes in very good form and will go close today.

5. BOMUTIN - Won here in August 2016. Racing barefoot all around but has shown nothing so far this year and must reassure

6. BLACKY DE CAMBRON - Made his second start of the year at Chatelaillon-La Rochelle coming in fourth. Form is on its way and looks like a major player racing with an advantage of 25 meters.

7. BLISTER JIBI - Blister Jibi hasn't found life easy in the Province. His latest win came in 2013. Could still grab a minor share of the money.

8. BOOSTER DU FLINOIS - Showed improvement on the grass at Chinon. Course and Distance winner in March. Could challenge for a place

9. BAD ROMANCE - Has made 34 starts in front of a sulky without winning. Won't change that today

10. BAKO DANICA - Fourth on his reappearance at Mansle on the grass. This is much tougher but is going the right way and an outsider just escaping the penatly

11. BERLITZ SEVEN - One at Amiens July 25, 2016 but hasn't started since that. Was disqualified at this track before that. Hard to believe in despite being a student of Jean-Michel Bazire with the master himself in the sulky

12. BRACO DES MOISSONS - Seven wins from 53 starts. Only seventh here in only try at this track. Outperformed his odds of 77/1 in a Quinte + at Vichy but will struggle to get near the podium today

13. BLEU DE BULGARIE - 5 wins from 16 tries in front of a sulky. Form is excellent and he trotted a new record under saddle latest. Major contender

14. BANDIT CHARENTAIS - Comes from a third at Saint-Jean-de-Monts only five days ago. If coping with the short break he is the one to beat with Eric Raffin in the saddle

15. BOSS DE HOUELLE - Far behind Blacky de Cambron (6) at Chatelaillon-La Rochelle last time out. Won't beat many home today

16. BRIHANA - Third here in only start at this track. Won at Vichy July 8 and

should go close today

Summary (14) BANDIT CHARENTAIS is the logical choice with Eric Raffin in the sulky. But (13) BLEU DE BULGARIE is not one to be underestimated and goes well for Loic Guinoiseau and is a serious challenger. 4. DILEO - One win from 14 starts and still searching for his form. Huge outsider with Monclin in the sulky

5. DANSE DU LAS VEGAS - Best form in claimers and easily passed over today

6. DEESSE NOIRE - Three wins from 11 starts. Prone to breaking stride and cannot be trusted. Capable enough to finish in the mix.

7. DICKENS DU BOULAY - Racing barefoot all around for the first time. Will need to improve a lot for that change to get involved but can't be ruled out.

8. DUMPING DU PARC - Escaping the penalty with 60 euros to spare. Jean-Michel Bazire is reporting for duty. Only win came going left-handed so that is another positive. Could be the surprise package

9. DIVINE ACTION - A good closer who is in need of improvement to finish in the money today. Others preferred

13. COQ D'AVRAN - Finished well at Sain-Malo and is hitting top-form right now. Major contender

14. CHAMPION DU LUPIN - Very consistent after getting rid of stride problems. Could grab a place if continuing keeping his stride in check

15. CREON DE LA BESVRE - Comes from two lesser performances on the grass. Back on a more normale surface he is much better. Won at Laon May 28 and that form is good enough to win this

16. CAFE BLOND - Four wins from 32 starts and one of the more experienced horses in the field. Latest win came at Lyon-La Soie in September but the recent form is good for a place at the podium

5. EROS DU BECQUET - Disqualified in a very good Group 1 race under saddle two starts ago. A very good driver is in the sulky today and should challenge for a place if applied.

6. EUREKA VRIE - Won at Vincennes March 28 but disqualified in two starts after that. Has been given a rest of more than two months but is capable enough to finish in the mix.

7. EDEN DU QUENNE - This student of Sebastien Guarato has two wins from five starts. Comes fresh to this and should go close

8. EMENCOURT D'AZIF - Comes from Paris but will find today's test way to hard. Others preferred

9. EROLING DU MESLE - Lost to a good one at Vincennes June 23. In good form and has strong place claims

10. EXAYRE - Consistent sort but this race is to good for him

11. ERABLE DU VIVIER - This gelding is held in high regard and comes from a hattrick. Impressive over shorter at Enghien July 13 but has won over further. If this race doesn't come too soon he should win
