Cable Transportation and Laying Equipment. Reid Brothers UK are able to supply various types of heavy duty zinc plated cable rollers to suit many applications and environments. It is extremely important that cable rollers are always used when pulling any cable. Types of cable rollers available include: Straight Line Cable Rollers. Manhole Entry Rollers. Bend Rollers. There are various uses for a cable roller depending on the environment. Examples of this being pulling cable through a trench would require a straight roller due to the narrowness of the roller and the legs long rounded legs allow it to sit on mud. Our full range of cable rollers are shown below. Straight Line Cable Rollers. Our range of straight line cable rollers vary in size and shape to make pulling cable through trenches as simple and safe as possible. Various design features including range from bridged frames to sit over cables, to flat bed rollers to suit soft ground conditions. The widths of the frames and rollers vary to suit the size of the cable or working environment, ranging from frame widths of 90mm to 205mm (HD) and drum sizes of 76mm to 110mm. (The range of straight line rollers available form Reid Brothers are shown below. SLR1 (76mm Aluminium Cable Roller) SLR2 (76mm Aluminium Cable Roller) SLR3 (76mm Pressed Steel Roller) SLR4 (110mm HD Straight Line Cable Roller) SLR5 (110mm HD Straight Line Bridge Roller) SLR6 (110mm Economical Pressed Steel Cable Roller) SLR7 (110mm HD 'safe' Straight Line Roller) SLR8 (110mm HD Straight Line Super Bridge Roller) SLR9 (110mm HD Straight Line Roller) SLR10 (110mm HD Straight Line Bridge Roller) HR1 Hanging Roller (110mm Diameter Large Waisted Steel Roller) Range of Cable Rollers on Flickr Lead In Rollers. Our range of lead in rollers work by ensuring the cable is centralised as it leaves the drum to be fed into the trench. The various design features on our range ofcable and lead in rollers include V style rollers to keep cable centralised and built in guides to avoid cable spillage. The widths of the frames and diameters of the rollers vary to suit the size of the cable. The cable roller frames range from 500mm wide to 1050mm wide and roller diameters from 60mm to 76mm. The range of cable lead in rollers are shown below. LR1 V Type Lead In Cable Roller (Small 500mm wide) LR2 V Type Lead In Cable Roller (Medium 850mm Wide) LR3 V Type Lead In Cable Roller (Large 1050mm Wide) LR4 Horizontal Type Lead In Cable Roller Manhole Entry Rollers Reid Brothers UK can provide a range of cable rollers suitable for leading cable down manholes and joint boxes. The manhole entry rollers have hooks to allow the roller to comfortably sit on the manhole edge.

6 Straight line cable / pipe rollersThe SLR1 is a compact cable roller for use in narrow trenches and/or in confined areas and suitable for cables up to 90mm.

The SLR2 bridge style cable roller is principally the same as the SLR1 but with the added benefit of being able to stand over existing cables or objects in the trench.

The SLR3 is an economical yet versatile and very compact cable roller for use in narrow trenches or secured on cable trays/gantries. Due to the design, this can also be used as a pipe roller for diameters of up to 200mm.

The SLR4 is a heavy duty cable roller for use in most cable laying applications and suitable for cables up to 130mm. Note – for the heaviest of cables, the Diablo roller can be substituted for a heavy duty parallel roller.

The SLR5 cable roller is principally the same as the SLR4 but with the added benefit of being able to bridge existing cables or objects already in the trench.

The SLR6 is an economical yet versatile cable roller for use in trenches, secured on cable trays or bolted down as a materials roller. Due to the design, this can also be used as a pipe roller.

Straight line cable / pipe rollers 6 The SLR7 is an heavy duty straight line cable roller, this roller is unique in that all edges are rounded to prevent the cable being damaged if for example the roller flips over etc. Due to the base size, this cable roller is also suitable for ladder racks and gantries.

The SLR8 is an heavy duty super bridge style cable roller. The design allows for the roller to be placed over multiple cables and also has the added benefit of a high elevation of the cable.

The SLR9 Cable Roller is principally the same as the SLR4 but is fitted with a steel flat plate bottom for use on sand and soft ground conditions.

The SLR10 is a heavy duty cable roller similar to the SLR5 but suitable for cables up to 205mm. Note – For the heaviest of cables, the Diablo roller can be substituted for an heavy parallel roller.

HR1 Hanging Cable Roller enables cable to be installed and suspended in elevated positions. Suspension rollers can be supplied as shown or with a ‘pigs tail’ fixing for attaching to a staining wire. Rollers can be supplied with a heavier duty roller for taking the initial elevation strain.
