Lourdes

Lourdes is a city in the South of France, right on the Pyrenees mountain range. Many Catholic Pilgrims go there, many who are severely disabled or terminally ill.

I have been to Lourdes twice now with the Leeds Diocese. Our job there is less of a ‘pilgrimage’ as we go to provide manual labour, help and to assist the pilgrims. Very fulfilling experience helping these people (many who are very handicapped or who do not expect to live much longer).
