Ritzglas - Poles & Shotgun Hot Sticks

RITzGLAS poles are manufactured according to approved methods and subjected to severe tests during the manufacturing process and final approval according to ASTM F711 and IEC60855. The poles are unicellular Polyurethane foam filled, in order to avoid contamination of the inner side of the pole by moisture and dirt. Every pole is dielectrically tested to 100 kV per 30 cm according to ASTM F711 and labelled with the test date. Testing should be done on a regular basis to ensure there are no faults on the poles. To ensure the safety of operators using the live line tools, there are safe approach distances they must adhere to. These approach distances may vary between countries, states, institutions and utilities.

Shotgun SticksShotgun sticks are the basic tool for live line work. They have an eye hook at the end of the stick that is operated by a trigger action, by the operator, which closes the hook, and clamps the tool or clamp etc. being worked on.

All-Angle Cog Wrench Round Hot StickThis stick allows the operator to locate a 12 drive at an angle, and turn it, whilst steadying the drive. Wing nuts on either side of the head allow the angle of the drive head in relation to the handle to be adjusted and locked over a range of 140. The hand grip holds the cog in place whilst the pole is rotated. It is used in hard to get to, or hard to get at places.

RITzGLAS Triangular Shaped Hot Sticks are designed to provide the working distance and insulation required to perform routine jobs on overhead electrical systems. The unit comprises a number of sticks that slide into each other with integrated locking buttons. They have a number of advantages over round hot sticks: Easy to transport Resolves the rotating problems found in round hot sticks, but provides the same strength Only the number of sections required for the job are extended, giving great flexibility Any section can be replaced if it becomes damaged Special tools for attachment to telescopic stick sundial adaptors e.g. House Service Fuse Puller (HSFP) are

VTT-M Section - Ordering Information

Before you place the order for the sections of the VTT-marked, please use the chart on next page in order to orient yourself on the exact section you will need. Please note there are differences to the sections of each VTT-marked. If you observe, the marks starts from top to bottom in order to permit the better reading by the electrician doing the operation. E.g. The VTT-/9M totally extended, starts on top with the section marked 1820 mm and ends on bottom with mm according to the above picture.

Insulated Electrical Access Tower

The RITzGLAS insulated modular electrical work platform is designed to create a fully insulated platform that can be used in substation work, giving special access to certain areas. Create a 1m x 1m or 2m x 2m tower, with a platform size of 1m2 or 1m x 2m or 2m x 2m as shown in the photograph. The base is mounted on a travelling castor assembly, which allows the platform to be assembled away from the work site, and to be moved into place. This castor assembly has rails to accommodate uneven surfaces.

High voltage Proximity DetectorThe T275HP is a high voltage proximity detector. It has eight voltage detection settings from 240Vac to 275kVac. The T275HP consists of an internal pick up sensor plate, a sensitivity selector, a visual and a sound annunciator. With the T275HP, physical contact with electrical conductors is not necessary when testing for live lines. This tester works by proximity.

J2 Cable LasherThe Model J2 Cable Lasher is used to lash a single aerial cable or numerous cables to a supporting strand or to an existing lashed cable with stainless steel lashing wire. Supplied with a heavy duty water resistant carry case.

Will lash any single or multiple aerial cables up to 76mm diameter across on any catenary strand from.

6mm to 11mm. A factory modification will allow the lasher to accommodate 12.7mm strand if necessary.
