When running the batch reporting facility in CA MAT and specifying

a SYSOUT Class of '*', CA MAT is removing the '*'. This is causing

allocation of the DDNAME TUNREPT to be allocated to the default

output class as defined in the security product.

SYMPTOMS:

SYSOUT is not going to the Message Class as specified on the Jobcard

however is going to the default SYSOUT class defined in the security

product.

IMPACT:

The TUNREPT can go to the wrong SYSOUT class, resulting in unexpected

results. CA MAT continues to function.

IMS PROBLEMS WITH DELAYVIEW AND CODEVIEW HIGH ACTIVITY


With MAT 9.0 testing BMPs from an IMS Tool called Bubba we noticed that a lot

of the WAIT% in delayview was being classified as unknown wait type. In 8.5

this same WAIT% looks to be going to IMS Statement delay. We also saw that

we may incorrectly identify wait/active mods.

When using DELAYVIEW or CODEVIEW to analyze an IMS BMP, the unknown delay

type seem excessively high, and suspicious high activity is seen in

modules such as DFSFLGGO.

SYMPTOMS:

High unknown delay time. Suspicious high

activity seen in some modules such as the

logger.

IMPACT:

Not all IMS SSA data will be seen.

Additionally some CodeView data may be

suspect.

SYMPTOMS:

Multiple Adabas statements appear (same DB ID, File #, CMD, CMD-ID

with most likely different ACTV%, WAIT% and TOTL%.

IMPACT:

To get accurate information on the duplicate statements for a

command, you have to add the values together.

The is also an error message visible: Invalid primary command

IMPACT:

The IMSview is a point and shoot field which when used should display the

IMS TranNameView panel.It does not function properly.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Use IMSVIEW,a global command in CA MAT to display the IMS TranNameView panel.

Wrong percentage is displayed for the 1st entry in a WAS monitor on

the WebSphere Classes panel.

SYMPTOMS:

On the WebSphere Classes panel the first entry has a much higher percent

than it should have. This is number is not accurate. This number is

higher than normal because other entries without a name are added

to the first entry.

IMPACT:

Misleading data displayed. The reports on Websphere Classes are not

accurate.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Using a D as Line command in front of the first entry will show the

real percent.

CA MAT v9.0 has this problem fixed.

in incomplete WebSphere reports.

None for CA MAT v8.5. For CA MAT v9.0 this problem is resolved.

column. Modules from MVS are displayed correctly.

IMPACT:

Misleading information is displayed. This information cannot be used for

accurate reports. No functionality is lost.

None for CA MAT v8.5.

In CA MAT v9.0 the problem has been resolved.

Part of the Function name is displayed as the MVS Program name when using

IMPACT:

Listing command in codeview of modules is not possible. CA MAT continues

to run normally.

Need to restart the CA MAT client or reregister the listing of that module.
