LIQUID DEFOAMER

DESCRIPTION

CA-AFL is an effective antifoaming and defoaming agent for oilwell cement. CA-AFL is especially useful in formulations which require the use of organic mixturesbut where entrained air must be avoided. Its tyupical properties are as follows:

APPLICATION

CA-AFL will eliminate entrained air, which causes problems in pumping. CA-AFLalso prevents excessive shrinkage, porosity and weakness of the set cement.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

Recommendations for a mixing program should be made only after a completeproject analysis and a thorough study has been made of all the factors affectingthe cementing operation.

CA-AFL is typically added in the amount of 0.01 0.03 gallons per sack (94 lbs)of cement, which will eliminate air in most systems. This, however, is not aspecification. The exact amount required may vary for each application, and isusually determined by observation and will depend upon the organics which arepresent.

PACKAGING

CA-AFL is normally packaged in 5 U.S. gallon export quality pails. This anti-foamer may congeal or stratify when cold. Should this occur, warm to l22F

(50~C) and mix well before using.
