She set two individual marks at the Frederick County meet and shined again at the 4A-3A South region meet, where she set two individual records and swam on two record-setting relay teams. n Enjoyed a dominant day at the county meet. In her frst individual event, she won the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.92 seconds, which toppled a meet record that was set in 2000. Later, she won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.5, which beat the previous meet mark by more than three seconds. n She was the driving force for a Tuscarora team that won the 4A-3A South region title. She won and set records in the 100 freestyle (54.44) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.91). She also helped the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay teams set meet marks with times of 1:54.69 and 3:49.35, respectively. She placed second in the 100 breaststroke at the state meet. RACHEL MCCOY SOPHOMORE LINGANORE nHad a huge day at the county meet to help the Lancers win the girls team title. She won the 100 butterfy, setting a meet record with a 57.25, and the 200 freestyle. At the 3A-2A-1A West region meet, she was second in the 100 butterfy. KATIE ROACH JUNIOR LINGANORE n Another steady contributor who helped the Lancers win the girls team title at the county meet. She placed third in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 500 freestyle. Diver of the Year JESSICA BUNTMAN LINGANORE JUNIOR n Coming of a successful debut season as a high school diver, Buntman did even better this year, defending her county title and becoming just the second Frederick County diver to win a state title. n She won her second title at the Frederick County meet, earning 245.15 points. Her victory helped the Lancers win their frst girls team title at the event. n Afer winning her frst regional title at the 3A-2A-1A West meet, Buntman won the state title with a score of 413.1. The only other Frederick County diver to win a state crown was Oakdale’s Melissa Novak in 2017.
