We are always thinking about Strengthening solutions when the building has any structural critical case which could affect its safety and could let it

collapse, meanwhile we want to keep the building as it is without resorting to the demolition solution.

1. Strengthening residential buildings

There are a wide range of options for strengthening existing residential buildings, depending on the era, condition and the exiting design of the building.

These remedial actions usually involve strengthening connections between structural elements, increasing the structure’s capacity to resist seismic

loads and strengthening connections between non-structural elements and the frame. Strengthening is not likely to be required if the house was built

after 1980.

2. Strengthening commercial and public buildings

Like residential buildings, strengthening of commercial and public buildings is primarily concerned with improving the connections between structural

elements, increasing the structure’s capacity to resist seismic loads and improving the connections between non-structural elements and the main

structure.

Unlike residential buildings, where seismic strengthening improvements to existing buildings are voluntary, commercial and public buildings can pose a

significantly greater risk to the public during an earthquake. Therefore, all buildings, not just new builds, are required to comply with a minimum level of

seismic performance.

The word REPAIR has a wide range of meanings

regarding its application and its scope statement.

Repair is applicable for concrete structural elements,

Steel structural elements and even for residential

properties and more.

Examples for some repair works:

• Removing rust from the reinforcement steel bars in order to prevent corrosion.

• Applying rust proofing materials for reinforcement

steel bars.

• Applying rust proofing materials for any exposed

steel elements.

• Applying rust proofing materials for the bolts and

nuts for the steel structural elements.

O z i s F a c t o r y

Ozis factory is considered as an extension for a Hungarian chain of

factories specialized in producing socks located in Budapest.

The owner decided to extend his business outside Europe to cover

Egypt and the middle east region, the first step was establishing a

branch for this chain in Egypt in the free zone of Ismailia.

Arlikan Pillars was assigned as a turnkey contractor for this project

with an EPC contract.

O i l & G a s

Z o h r f i e l d f o r g a s e x t r a c t i o n

Zohr field for gas extraction is considered one of the biggest oil and

gas projects in Egypt in this century.

Arlikan pillars, in cooperation with IES takes pride and had the

honor in participating in zohr field as an important national project

providing site services for Schlumberger.

W e s t C a i r o A i r p o r t

West Cairo airport is a new huge airport constructed on

Cairo-Alex desert road as one of the Egyptian national

new projects which is encouraging the investments.

Arlikan Pillars has cooperated with Youni-S for

construction as their sub-contractor for carrying out

infrastructure and finishing works in west Cairo airport.

The African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) was established on 24 February, 1976 in

Yaoundé, Cameroon provides much needed capacity and assistance to the African Insurance

sector by means of first class reinsurance protection in the following broad classes of business:

Fire/Engineering, Oil & Gas, Motor/Accident, Marine, Aviation and Life. This is achieved through a

network of offices located in Casablanca, Nairobi, Abidjan, Ebene, Johannesburg, Cairo, Lagos

and Addis Ababa.

Arlikan Pillars was assigned by the main contractor AGS to carry out a great role in the exterior

and fitting out process. For a period of 12 months, Arlikan Pillars was responsible for executing

all exterior civil, architecture, and finishing works. In addition, Arlikan Pillars was assigned to be

the management consultant of the main contractor’s contract, Our role was representing the main

contractor regarding the correspondences, variations, claims, time schedule in front of Sabbour

who was the project consultant firm.

The social building of El Bosila charitable organization project is considered one of many charity

projects funded by the Prince of Sharjah in Egypt.

Arlikan Pillars was entrusted by the main contractor with the execution and completion of this

project.

Martyr Afifi Mosque is also considered one of the charity

projects funded by the Prince of Sharjah in Egypt.

Arlikan Pillars was entrusted by the main contractor with

the civil works of the mosque.

C A C H S F i n i s h i n g P r o j e c t

Cairo American Collage is a world-class education facility. Its

environment encourages the students to express their opinions, passions

and showcase their talents. Believing in the importance of raising

fearless generations who are able to contribute to the development of our

society, Arlikan Pillars was sub-contracted by GCC to cooperate and

carry out some of finishing works for the high School building as we were

the main contractor of the predecessor phase of strengthening, repair

and new construction for the named building.

Every project has its own challenge. After Arlikan Pillars has been

selected as a main contractor by the Cairo American Collage to carry

out the strengthening, Repair and new construction works for the high

school building, The challenge faced Arlikan Pillars was the time-

frame set for such a huge project. However, Arlikan Pillars proved

itself capable of completing the project within such time- frame of 5

months.
