1 General Information

This manual is an important part of the equipment and is aimedat personnel who operate and maintain the C I pedestal. It con-tains information about the C I and it´s proper use. Above all itserves to safeguard users and the environment.

It is the duty of each user to familiarize themselves with thecontents of the manual and to adhere exactly to all instructionsrelating to safety.

In addition the rules and regulations governing the prevention ofaccidents must also be observed. Please keep this manual forfuture reference.

2 Intended use

This pedestal was designed for professional use in televisionstudios and outside locations for moving and elevating fluidheads and cameras. Any use above and beyond this purpose isdeemed improper and will void the warranty.

The pedestal must be maintained and serviced only with originalSachtler parts.

3 Symbols used in the user´s manual

3.1 Danger

Indicates a possible danger to the life andsafety of users. Non-observance of theseinstructions may have seriously harmfulconsequences to health, including life-threatening injuries.

3.2 Warning

Indicates a possibly harmful situation. Non-observance can damage the machine or equipment it supports.

3.3 Tool

Indicates that tools are needed to completethis operation.

4 Safety Instructions

A pressurized pedestal will rise rapidly when the transport lockis released. Therefore do not lean over the pedestal whenreleasing the transport lock.

The pedestal is intended for use on an unobstructed and rea-sonably level surface by camera operators.

Maintenance must be performed only by competent, trainedpersonnel.

Camera weight with acces-sories may not exceed20 kg (44.1 lbs).

Attach Touch & Go cameraplate to camera (or bridgingplate) by means of 2 screws (3/8” and 1/4”).

Center of gravity compensati-on.Bring camera with accessoriesinto balance position. Lock sli-ding plate with red lever.

Transport lock.Press steering ring down tounlock/lock transport lock.

A pressurized pede-stal may raiserapidly when thetransport lock isreleased.

Head interface.Flat base/75 mm (3”) bowl.Separate head from pedestalby undoing 3 Allan screws.Head ready to be used on75 mm (3”) bowl tripod.

Pneumatic System.Pressurize the pedestal withthe attached hand pump.Center column should be inperfect balance in middleposition.Max. pressure:5 bar/4 atü.

Important:Center column does notrequire any lubrication.Ball bearings have insula-ting-rubber tyres. After lon-ger periods out of operation,these tyres may causeminor bumps when movingthe center column up anddown. They will regenerateafter a couple of up anddown movements.

Warranty expires if the C I is operated improperly or not in linewith the specified technical data (please refer to our generalterms of sale and delivery).

1 Allgemeine Information

Die Benutzerinformation ist wichtiger Bestandteil der Lieferungund ist an das Bedienungs- und Instandhaltungs-Personal desC I gerichtet. Sie enthält wichtige Informationen und dient vorallem der Sicherheit des Bedieners und der Umwelt.

Es ist die Pflicht jedes C I Benutzers, sich mit dem Inhalt derBedienungsanleitung vertraut zu machen und alle Hinweise,die die Sicherheit betreffen, genau zu beachten.

Darüberhinaus sind die für den Einsatzort geltenden Regelnund Vorschriften zur Unfallverhütung zu beachten.

2 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

Das Pedestal wurde für den professionellen Einsatz zumBewegen von Kameras entwickelt. Eine andere oder darüber-hinausgehende Benutzung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß.

4 Sicherheitshinweise

Beachten Sie, daß beim Aufbau, Abbau und Transport desPedestals die Transportsicherung verwendet werden muß.

Lösen Sie die Transportsicherung nicht ohne Last, da dieHubsäule nach oben schnellen kann und dadurchVerletzungen oder Beschädigungen verursachen kann.

Das Pedestal wurde für den Einsatz auf relativ ebenem undhindernisfreiem Untergrund entworfen.

Wartungsarbeiten dürfen nur von geschultem Fachpersonaldurchgeführt werden.
