Congratulations to Kim Pilkington with 1st Interstate Bank in Madras, for the lucky draw of the Mystery Camera Clip in the March Newsletter. Good Luck to you in your quest of finding the Mystery Clip in this month’s issue. The “Wandering Mystery Camera Clip” will be a picture of part of a member’s business, event, or a place, which will be located somewhere in or close to Jefferson County. We may or may not, give a hint each time, where the business, event. or place is located. Our purpose is that you are more aware of what and where our member businesses are locat-ed. When you look at the photo in the newsletter and recognize the place of business, or event, call us with the name and location of the business, event, or place featured. The first 10 caller’s names will be put in a pot & the winner will be drawn from those names for the free business card ad in next month’s Newsletter. We will announce the winner in our next month’s newsletter. Our “Wandering Mystery Camera Clip” photo this month is a place with a lot of knowledge about a lot of things! Good Luck! ????????

Four seats and Ten candidates in the May Primary Elections. It has been a long time since we have had such a large number of interested candidates pursuing Jefferson County elected positions. The JC County Clerk position has four candidates: Brian Crow, Charity Dubisar, Kate Zemke and Yoonsun Reynolds. The two JC Commissioner positions have five candidates: Courtney Snead, Kelly Simmelink, Kim Schmith, May Huston and Mary Kendall. And the JC Sheriff position has one candidate: Jim Adkins. Who would you vote for? Who should you vote for? Why would you not vote for a specific candidate? Why would you or should you care? Will it matter if or how I vote? April will be the month to answer the above questions in time for the Primary Election on May 15

th. The

Chamber is hosting Candidate Forums April 18th and April 25

th at the COCC-Madras Campus. We

encourage you to attend both events that start at 5.30 pm with an informal meet and greet with the candidates and the forum starting at 6.00 pm. The forum format will entertain questions from the community to the candidates by our three forum facilitators. A past JC Commissioner, Rick Allen and our future past JC Commissioner, Mike Ahern, led by the Mayor of Gateway, Marla Rae Vibbert. We are looking for a more in depth and entertaining discussion with the candidates. April 18

th Candidates Forum will be for the Jefferson County Commissioners race

April 25th Candidates Forum will be for the Jefferson County Clerks race and Jefferson County Sheriff

In addition, the Crooked River Ranch will have an All Candidates forum at 6.00 pm at the Juniper Room in the administrative building on April 11

Rob Nelson and Trevor Groves started Madras Physical Therapy in 2010 driven by a belief that clinical excellence, dedication to service and compassionate individualized care provides the best value and outcome in your healthcare experience. Their model of care supports a thorough investigation of the musculoskeletal, biomechanical and neurological causes of their patient’s problems to drive effective outcomes for the patients they serve. Tapping into nearly 50 years of providing care in Central Oregon Rob and Trevor bring a thorough understanding of our local healthcare system and leverage that experience to best guide our patients in their healthcare choices. Keeping a focus on excellence in clinical care, service and community involvement has supported exceptional growth, positioning Madras Physical Therapy as the largest physical therapy provider in Jefferson County. Our team includes Mitch Rost, MSPT, an eclectic clinician and inventor with nearly 20 years of experience, Christina Dodini-Marquez, DPT, a lifelong Central Oregon resident who brings exciting and fresh perspectives, Meagan Cavanaugh, PTA, who brings a strong sports background having been a competitive bike racer, and Scott Platko, PTA, who with over 20 years of experience is one of the most highly regarded assistants in Central Oregon. Our model of care supports a holistic approach to healing and we are delighted to have acupuncture services provided by Eric Mallory, LAC ND. As a dually licensed acupuncturist and naturopathic physician Eric brings an exceptional wealth of experience as a care provider. We are delighted to add massage therapy services with Margee Moschetti, LMT, joining our team. Margee has built a strong local reputation that aligns with our vision. Our care team is supported by a service forward office staff headed by Colette Nelson with Kathy Madri-gal and Sandy Barajas available to support the clinical staff and our clients. We are proud of Kathy as she continues her education to become a physical therapy assistant. In May of 2017 we moved into our newly constructed building at 785 McTaggart. Our business was the first in Madras to take the risk and investment of constructing a new facility following the recession. Our spacious clinic has been well received by the community and supports further excellence in clinical care. Our broader investment in the community includes partnering with Madras Runners to put on the Canyon Rumble Frozen Half marathon, 10K and 5K and MADass ultramarathon to fund the Jack Watts Memorial Scholarship which supports local youth running programs. We have partnered with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to successfully support their efforts to establish an outpatient physical therapy clinic in Warm Springs. We work with Partners in Care to provide free services and contribute to a variety of local non-profit organizations. Madras Physical Therapy is home to a talented group of clinicians and staff who share Rob and Trevor’s vision of health care delivery. In May of 2017 we moved into our newly constructed 3,500 sq. foot clinic designed to provide the best outcome in your healthcare experience. We offer a full range of physical therapy services including aquatic therapy, spine care, post operative rehabilitation, sports/performance training and spinal manipulation. We have acupuncture and naturopathy services available with Eric Mallory, LaC, ND.
