Delivery of your product will usually be within two weeks, in panel form with rolled safety edges on all sheets, ensuring you an excellent finished project with the minimum installation effort.

GUARANTEESteelChief guarantees all workmanship of our products. Our current suppliers of pre-painted coloured and zinc sheeting have warranted that their products are resistant to flaking, peeling and excessive fade or perforation for 15 years under certain conditions. The warranties are given subject to our suppliers’ standard warranty terms which are available from our distributors or our website. We will pass on to our suppliers any material warranty claim, but SteelChief will not itself be liable to meet any such claim. SteelChief may without notice change suppliers and/or materials which may alter warranty terms.

IMPORTANT NOTE• If in doubt about the suitability of a SteelChief product for your site please consult your local civil engineer.

• All sizes shown are actual external wall dimensions. Roofs will overhang the walls in some directions. All measurements stated by SteelChief are nominal (or approximate) and may vary slightly from product to product. Please advise your distributor of any important dimensional requirements.

AT STEELCHIEF WE LIKE TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE WITH EASY DIYThat’s why all of our products come in pre-assembled panels, so if you are the Do-It-Yourself kind of person upon delivery of your new SteelChief product all you need to do is screw the panels together using a cordless drill. Be sure to attach your product to the ground immediately to ensure no wind damage occurs. Instructions on assembly can be obtained from your nearest distributor, or just visit us at www.steelchief.com.au to download a full step-by-step guide.

SteelChief is also more than happy to help you to install your new product. Factory direct installation is available. Installation pricing in this catalogue is based on a fully prepared, flat and level site. Ask your distributor how to prepare a site or visit our website for more information.

Throughout this catalogue our colour coding system makes it easy to find out how much it will be for our SteelChief team to install your shed.

Installation by the SteelChief team includes attaching the shed to the ground with star pickets, or to your flat concrete slab with anchors and clips.

As well as offering help when it comes to the assembly of your new SteelChief product, we can also organise site preparation to ensure everything goes smoothly when you put your product up. Request a quote and we’ll come and see you to survey your area. Site preparation may include excavation and retaining walls. The cost of a site preparation consultation is $100, which

will be credited against the project costs if completed by our team.

Setting up a site so that it’s level and suitable for a concrete slab, wooden floor or direct to ground installation requires more work that you might first think. You must use an accurate level to check the grades on your site. Also consider how water will drain around your shed. If your shed is larger than 10m2 it may need a permit. You can check with your local council or just ask us and we can find out for you, and then obtain the permit on your behalf. For a full list of steps to ensure a prepared site

FULLY LAID ON YOUR PREPARED SITE!To improve your new SteelChief product’s water resistance, we recommend installing one of our “rebated” concrete or wooden flooring options. Your site needs to be level and prepared, if you’re unable to do this yourself just ask us and we can quote to do this work for you.

SITE PREPARATIONSite preparation and selection is very important. Some considerations you need to think about include:• Levels• Tree overhangs• Ground water drainage• Space for doors to swing open• Access to underground pipes• Soil type• Clearance required to install the shed

A properly prepared site will have all soft materials and plant matter removed and a bed of compacted, crushed rock laid. The site must be level (be sure to use a spirit level) and slightly raised above the surrounding ground. This ensures the shed’s concrete slab or wooden floor will be founded on a hard, flat and level base. The level of the shed floor will be approximately 100mm above the surrounding ground.

DO-IT-YOURSELF CONCRETINGUnless you have some concreting experience, or a qualified friend who does, we do not recommend doing the concreting yourself.

A mistake made can often be very expensive, and difficult to rectify. Let the SteelChief team take the hassle out and do it for you, and also lay any other surrounding pathways etc.

SHED BASE FLOORING OPTIONS

CONCRETE FLOORS (Recommended to meet N4 Wind Rating)Concrete floors are a great shed base option. Allow the concrete to dry for forty-eight hours before using the shed! The finished slab size is the same size as the shed, but upon request additional concreting around the shed can be done. These prices are based on the customer preparing the site as per above, and are additional to the shed installation price.

A rebated wooden floor offers excellent water seal at the base of the shed and strong attachment to the ground. These prices are shown as fully installed by the SteelChief team. For DIY floors please see page 25.

REBATED WOODEN FLOORS (MAXIMISES WATER TIGHTNESS)Wooden floor installation includes connecting the shed to the floor, and if necessary the floor will be star picketed to the ground (small sheds only). They are simple and fast to install and easy to relocate. Supplied as pre cut sheets of 19mm particle board flooring and 75 x 45mm treated pine bearers cut to length. These prices are based on the customer preparing the site as per opposite page.

The cost = add 12% to rebated slab cost. The shed is bolted

to the flat slab. In this option it is difficult to seal the base

of the shed, if this is required.

We will pour the slab and return at a later date to erect the

shed. If you require us to “try and seal” the base of the shed

please request a quote.

Concrete is poured after into the erected shed. Up to 65mm of headroom inside the shed may be lost. This type of slab is not recommended as it is more prone to cracking from natural movement in the ground. The loss of headroom is also a disadvantage.

Add 10% to slab cost for optional reinforcing.
