Lieutenant General Shailesh Tinaikar of India was appointed as head of UN peacekeeping operation in South Sudan

He will succeed Lieutenant General Frank Kamanzi of Rwanda. He will command over 1 6,000 peacekeepers which include nearly 2,400 from India. He has an experience with the Indian Armed Forces for more than 34 years.

Russia launched the world’s largest nuclear powered icebreaker named Ural.

Russia is preparing for shipping via Northern sea route. This move will improve the ability to tap the Arctic’s commercial potential. The Ural will be handed over to Rosatom (Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy corporation) in 2022 after the other two icebreakers in the same series, Arktika (Arctic) and Sibir (Siberia) enter service.

Wirecard joined hands with India to issue PAN cards

Wirecard, a German Payments Company announced that it would work with India to simplify the process of issuing tax identity cards which required for opening bank accounts, transfer money and complete business transactions.
