The Challenge:Field the Combined Block 7.0/8.1

• Baseline configuration delivered late 2016• Accumulates multiple Block Upgrades and

incremental enhancements• USG adding mission-specific updates

– Referred to as “variants”

• Development continues for high value enhancements and deficiencies correction


The Challenge:Moving Targets

• Multiple design baselines based on original production line, variant, and missionization

• More mandates and evolving policies– Not always able to grandfather

• Expanding beyond military airspace management

• Increased emphasis on processes and tools– “How” we build matters as much as “What” we build

Kits and modification requirements will change over the life of the CKI Program.

• Primary: Equip 240+ C-130J aircraft with Combined Block Upgrade 7.0/8.1 Group A/B kits

• Customers: AMC, SOCOM, AFSOC, ACC, USCG, USMC, AFLCMC

• Contract Type: TBD• Program Type: USAF

• Objective: Contractor modification lines for the combined Block 7.0/8.1 C-130J fleet update

• Scope: Update fleet from Block 6.0 to Block 8.1; augment organic modification lines
