How thick is the idler shell?uCompared to the rest o the market,

I we didnt catch a worn steel roll in time, the sharppoints would catch the clips, tear them apart andcause a rip all the way down the belt. That is anexpensive problem!

What are common applications?uI you have problems keeping water

or slurry out o your idler bearings,regreasable idlers are an alternative.Because you are always purging thebearing with grease, water isnt ableto do as much damage.

How often do you regrease?uIt is totally dependent on your

application and so no one answer isaccurate. I you can blame idlerailures on water or slurry damage,regrease more oten. It could be asoten as every day.

How do tapered compare to ball bearings?uAs ball bearing technology has

improved and the cost o maintenancehas increased, ball bearings havesignifcantly replaced tapered roll asthe market standard.

Self-Aligning Idlers


Why might I need a troughing self-aligner?uThere are many actors that cause

belt mis-tracking, although someonly aect the top side o the belt.Common to radial stackers, o-centerloading causes mis-tracking to thebelts top side. A carry-side, ortroughing sel-aligner will track thebelt straight at every radial position.

Why choose this style?uIt comes down to simple economics.

However, there are also distinctperormance comparisons. TheNavigator return trainer evolved romthe sel-aligner to solve issues withcontact to belt guides.

Why is the belt guide concave shaped?uCompared to a harder, straighter style

guide, the concave shape makes ora soter landing when the side o thebelt contacts the guide.

Navigator Return Trainer


What are common applications?uThe trainer can be used in any

application where belt tracking is anissue. Its also recommended orapplications where return sel-alignerswill not ft or are not working.

Where should I install?

uWe recommend 25 to 50 eet romthe tail or head pulley on the beltsbottom or return side and then every100 eet ater that on longer spanconveyors. However, i there is aspecifc spot where there are trackingissues, install the trainer one to twoidlers upstream.

Can you replace the bearings?uI you need to, they are o-the-shel,

ange mount bearings that can bereplaced with an extended socket.However, compared to other trainers,the Navigator return trainer is equippedwith larger bearings designed to lastthe lie o the product.

How it Works


Bad Behavior

When our belts misalign they cut into return ramesand can actually cut right through the conveyor. Atthe least, the conveyor catches the belt lacing andrips the side o the belt.

Pricey Problems

At $15 to $20 a oot and three to our maintenanceworkers, its a pretty expensive situation to changeout a belt and anyway you look at it, its downtime!

Advanced Alternative

The Navigator return trainer just seems to handlethe belt better than those ones with the side guiderollers. They let the belt travel too ar beore theyeven start doing anything.

When do I need a secondary cleaner?
