Under Armour 2019 Summer Internship Internship Eligibility: - Receiving an undergraduate or master’s degree between December 2019 and June 2021; December 2019 to May 2020 is strongly preferred. - Or completing an undergraduate program in May 2019 and continuing immediately into a graduate program in Fall 2019. Location of Internship: Under Armour Innovation - Portland, Oregon ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxAjmrneeCo ) Duration: 12 week full-time paid position; start / end date adjusted to support the student’s academic calendar Goal: Help UA develop a process of linking athlete insights to parametric, simulation-driven designs to deliver optimized performance footwear solutions. Desired Critical Skills / Experiences / Attributes for the Internship Position - Minimum: o Professional career path as a Mechanical, Materials, or Biomechanical Engineer o 3D (CAD) parametric modeling experience (such as with SolidWorks, Rhino, CATIA); o Understanding of mechanics of polymer materials; dynamic structural loading - Preferred: o Computational, parametric design tools, (e.g. Grasshopper); comfortable with programming and systems thinking (e.g. Matlab, Python)

 Major Projects during Summer Internship

- Use parametric CAD and/or computational design tools to create 3D models for passing to engineering simulation (FEA).

- Create, execute, and post-process Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations of 2 to 3 new Performance Footwear Concepts (e.g. cushioning, plates, traction, or uppers) using established UA test methods.

- Drive design optimization to a specific performance goal using defined design variables (materials, feature parameters, loading constraints) for selected concepts.  Validate, communicate and review results with innovation team.
