Background

• Sweet Beginnings Bakery is a local small business.

• They sell all types of baked goods but specialize in wedding cakes.

• Their current and only process is completely paper driven.

Adding Business Value

• Our database turns the bakery’s current manual process into an efficient and manageable process.

• Their current manual process has the tendency to lose papers and information is difficult to gather and analyze.

• Our database will add business value by providing the bakery with an effective way to store and manipulate their data regarding wedding cake orders.

Database Design

• Three Forms:– Event Information– Wedding Cake Details– Accessory Deposit Information

• Five Reports:– Accessories not returned– Cake Balances Due– Customer Invoice– Location Report– Wedding Cake Contracts

User Interface Design

• Users would include:– Owners– Bakery Staff

• Bakery staff will use the forms to take and maintain wedding cake orders.

• The owners would use the reports to make management decisions such as advertisement, view balances, or mail invoices.

Website

• Our website contains our presentation, database, email contacts, photos of past cakes, and links to Sweet Beginnings Bakery’s actual Facebook Page and website.
