Culture of Libya

Language

Arabs became the most wide spread language in Libya when the Migration of Hilalian-Sulaimi and the migration of Arabs to places near and in Libya.

ClothingMost men wear loose cotton shirts and

pants covered by a cloak.Women wear robes they wear these because

of their beliefs and values.People who don’t wear these cloths wear

western clothes.

Traditions

Most of the women in Libya do not have a good education and many of them do not work either.

Ethnic Groups

Most people in Libya are followers of Islam.Arabs is the largest ethnic group.

Foods

The Libyan foods are a mixture of Arabic , Mediterranean and Italian is a major influence.

The national dish of Libya is Couscous and is made from semolina which is a type of flour.

Music

The instruments that the Libyan Arabs play are, the Zorka( a flute made of bamboo) tambourine, oud( a fretless lute) and the Darbuka a drum held sideways and played with your fingers

Libya’s natural resources include: oil natural gas gypsum
