Holiday Safety Appeal Voiced By State Patrol
A Fourth of .luly holiday appeal fur safety was Issued this week to motorists from the Department of Motor Ve hicles on the eve of an ex pected record breaking three day Fourth of July traffic volume.
"Thousands of new cars are on the rood, giving owners an opportunity to take defer red vacations," said Edgar E.

Quarantine Of Beach Modified By Health Dept.
Modification of the bea quarantine in Los Angeles Coun ty has been announced by the State Department of Public Health, according to Dr. Roy O. Gilbert, Los Angeles County Health officer.
Boundaries of the prohibited zone now extend ftom Sunset pier in Venice foi-ming the north- ccn boundary of the quarantine area to 27th street in Manhat tan Beach forming the southern boundary. All beaches within these limits remain under quar antine but the public may enjoy the beaches north and south of the quarantined strip. The quar antinc originally extended to Sea side Terrace in Santa Monica on the north and to 14th street in Hemiosa Beach on the south.
Chlorination or chemical treat m*nt of sewage by the city Los Angeles has sufficiently re duced the bacterial eontamina tion and the visible sewage de posits on the beaches to war rant modifying the quarantin order, State Health Depattmcn reports show.
