By Lisa Scavelli ELEMENTS OF ART & PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN ELEMENTS OF ART The color yellow of these leaves were so vibrant against the blue color of the sky that I knew the contrast of the two colors would work well together. I set up this shot by kneeling down very close to the fence. I angled the camera up until I got the sun shining through the leaves. Aperture F 5.6 Shutter 125 ISO COLOR I spotted this frog sitting on a leaf. He couldnt have been bigger than the tip of my finger, but I could see he was three dimensional because I could see more than one side of him. I was at a birds eye view, zoomed the camera as close as I could, and focused the lens on the frog. Aperture F 7.1 Shutter 100 ISO FORM The lines on this spider web caught my eye before I saw the spider. I loved how the light reflected off the circular lines. I was positioned at eye level and focused the camera lens on the spider and web. Aperture F 7.1 Shutter 100 ISO LINE I was hiking along a path and happened to look up and saw this tree trunk from this worms eye angle. I noticed how it looked like a star shape and snapped the picture. Aperture F 4.5 Shutter 1/60 ISO SHAPE This log had termite holes all over it and I thought they show cased negative space nicely. I had to kneel down to capture the shot at an eye level view. Aperture F 4 Shutter 60 ISO SPACE The texture is represented all over this piece of birch wood. Between the lichen and the fuzzy moss, it made me want to run my hands over it. I was position below it and angled the camera up. Aperture F 4 Shutter 60 ISO TEXTURE After hiking to the top of this mountain, I stopped to rest under the shade of this tree and realized that this was a perfect example of value because I could see the contrast of the sharp edge of the shade up against the bright sunny area where the sun hit the ground. I was at eye level view. Aperture F 9 Shutter 200 ISO VALUE PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN BALANCE CONTRAST EMPHASIS MOVEMENT PATTERN REPETITION RHYTHM KEEPING TRACK OF APERTURE, SHUTTER SPEED & ISO
