How did the Beatles come together?
When John Lennon grew up he started a band called “The Quarrymen” and they played at local churches.
Later in time John, Paul, George, and Ringo started
meeting in general public out of coincidence.
They formed their group in 1960 after thinking of many names for the band, they finally came
up with “The Beatles.”
What impact did the Beatles have on musical history?
The Beatles superb melodies and beautiful harmonies that they
made together had a big influence on a wide range of
rock bands.
The Beatles made awesome popular rock-and-roll music. They made it as popular as
classical or symphonic music.
The Beatles became popular in the early 1960’s with their first single “Love Me Do”. John Lennon’s use of the harmonica made the single far removed from the traditional “beat combo”, which made the
Beatles original and new.
Why are the Beatles called
“The Beatles?”
John loved “Buddy Holly and The Crickets so they
thought of insect names, for their band name.
John came up with “The Beetles” but then they changed it to
“Beatles,” because when it was spelled backwards, it spelled “les beat.” They thought it sounded cool and French.
They changed their name to “Silver Beatles” and then later the band dropped out “Silver.” So the band finally settled on
calling themselves “The Beatles.”
Why did the Beatles split
up???
The break-up of The Beatles began in 1967, when Brian Epstein died. This was a real tragedy, because he had been The Beatles’ manager, since 1961.
The band members started to get interested in other things, besides music. John Lennon met Yoko Ono at an art festival, and got married.
The Beatles members knew that they needed a new manager, but they couldn’t agree on one, so they started to stop talking and hanging out.
