Verbs: past, present, and

future

a word used to describe an action, state, or

occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as hear, become, happen. (a verb is a word that we use to communicate action.)

Verbs tell about the subject of the sentence, and they are found in the predicate.

Verbs can express physical action, mental action, and a state of being.

Past tense verbs are ones that have

already happened.Examples: He went to the store. She bought the flowers. We won the game. They rode the bike. She had money. We all wanted to go home.

Past:

Present tense verbs are verbs that tell

what is currently happening.Examples: He is at the store. She buys the flowers. We win the game. They ride the bike. She has money. We want to go home.

Present:

Future tense verbs are ones that tell

what is going to happen.Examples: He will go to the store. She will buy the flowers. We will win the game. They will ride the bike. She will have money. We will want to go home.
