• This decade will feature the World Series’ from each decade and information about them

• I chose to do this because I love baseball and thought it would be interesting to be able to research the various World Series’.

• Cincinnati Reds .vs. Oakland Athletics

• This was Oakland’s third straight Series.

• The Reds swept the series in four games.

• Jose Rijo of the Reds won the World Series MVP after winning Game 1 and Game 4

• Minnesota Twins .vs. Atlanta Braves

• Minnesota won the Series in an exciting 7 games

• Jack Morris won the Series MVP after going 2-0 in the Series and pitching 10 innings to win Game 7

• Three of these games went into extra innings

• Toronto Blue Jays .vs. Atlanta Braves

• This was the first World Series to be played in Canada

• Toronto won the Series in six games

• Pat Borders was awarded the World Series MVP

• Every game except for one was decided by two runs or less

• Toronto Blue Jays .vs. Philadelphia Phillies

• Toronto, the defending champions won the Series in six games

• Paul Molitor was the Series MVP

• Joe Carter hit a walk-off homerun in Game 6 to win the Series

• Baseball went on strike

• 920 games were cancelled

• The strike lasted 234 days

• The strike also cancelled the postseason, including the World Series
