Slide 2 By: Hanna Briestensky Slide 3 Problem Determine how the height from which the ball is dropped, effects how high that the ball will bounce back up. Slide 4 Materials 1 meter stick 3 tennis balls 1 pencil 1 calculator 9 sheets of paper 1 roll of tape Slide 5 Hypothesis My hypothesis was that Ball #3 in Trial #3, would bounce the highest because it was being dropped from the highest point and because it was on its third bounce it would have loosened up by then and would probably bounce higher. My hypothesis was proven correct when Ball #3 on Trial #3, bounced up to 133 cm. Slide 6 Procedure Step 1: drop Ball #1 from the 100cm mark three times, each time measuring at what height that the ball bounced up to. Step 2: Repeat step 1 except at the 50cm mark. Step 3: Repeat step 1 except this time at the 200cm mark. Step 4: Record data and results into the data table. Slide 7 Variables Independent Variable: Height from which the ball was dropped. Dependent Variable: The type of measurement used to measure all of the results into (cm). Constant Variables: The type of ball used in the experiment (tennis). Control Group: using three different tennis balls. The surface that the ball was bounced on (in this case, wood flooring was used). Slide 10 Conclusion In conclusion, my project was a success and my hypothesis was correct. All of my results where accurate. Slide 11 Thank you for watching! The End
