WHAT OTHERS THOUGHT

Before showing my research or telling them about it. I asked people who they thought was

going to win.Four out of Seven people said the

Smilodon was going to win.Let’s find out who does win……….

*Smilodon*

*The Smilodon ,also know as Saber Tooth Tiger, is know for its incredibly large eight inch teeth. But their teeth are not actually as useful as you may think.Since they’re so fragile,Smilodons don’t actually Use their teeth until the Prey is completely on the Ground. Then when the Prey is as still as can be, the

*Teeth come out and sink into the prey’s neck. Causing the animal to instantly die because the teeth cut the nerves and trachea. Like the animal alive today, the lion, Smilodons hunt in prides. The males are the leaders of the pride, so the females do the all hunting and let the males slack off. Then the males get to eat first and get to eat however much they want. Because they have to be ready to defend the pride from other invading males.

*Smilodon*

*Invading males are rival males that are looking for a pride to take over. The present male lion will have to fight the invaders. And if he looses, he will lose his pride ,his cubs, and possibly his life. He will lose his cubs because the invaders will not want cubs that belonged to the previous male to be in their pride, so they will kill them.

^Terror Bird^

^The Terror Bird is a massive nine foot tall bird. It is a carnivorous bird that can pray on things like giant nine foot tall Giant Sloths. And things like Glitidant. Which are animals the size of cars that are armed like armadillos. They are usually non-social animals and live by them selves. But sometimes you can catch brothers or sisters hunting together to have an advantage in numders.

^Terror Bird^

^ A Terror Bird’s most dangerous weapon is their beak and head. Their beak is very sharp and powerful. Their heads are approximately 1 ½ feet long. But in 1999 scientist found a skull of a different type of Terror Bird. It’s head was recorded at a length of2 ½ feet long. That is About the size of anAverage house dog!

^Terror Bird^

^ They would not be that powerful with out their long, muscular necks. When theyHunt, they chase their prey by theSide of whatever they’re chasing .Then they give it a push, so it fallsOver on it’s side. Then he swingsIts head back, and slams it’s beak Into the skull of the animal. Causing the animal to instantly die.

First they confront each other at a kill. They both want it. So this fight could end in death.

Page 13: By: Gabrielle Thrash. TERROR BIRDSMILODON v v.

One of the Terror Birds runs away when the Smilodon growls. The other is older

and has had more experience, so he stands his

ground.

The Smilodon charges at the remaining Terror Bird not thinking

before his actions.

Page 15: By: Gabrielle Thrash. TERROR BIRDSMILODON v v.

The Smilodon strikes its teeth at the Terror Birds side and scratches the

Terror Bird. But by doing so, breaks its tooth. The

Terror Bird sees an advantage.

Page 16: By: Gabrielle Thrash. TERROR BIRDSMILODON v v.

So the Terror Bird swings back its head and strikes the Smilodon on the forehead.

Killing it in seconds.
