By Crystal Li and Ashley Zhu The southern part of Kimberly region there is a land called Bunuba. It is located far north of the state of Western Australia. The Bunuba land is including Napier and Oscar ranges. Jundamarra was part of the Bunuba tribe. Jandamarra was born in C and died in C. 1 st of April He was also known as the pigeon. In 1890, some of the Bunuba Tribe was captured by the Lilimilura Police Post. Jundamurra freed them by stealing a number of guns and he shot a policemen named Richardson. In 10 th November 1894, a Bunuba war started when Jundamarra and some other members of the tribe attacked five white men, who were driving cattle to build a large station in the Bunuba Land Burke and Gibbs were killed in the progress of using guns and this leaded to the first time that guns were used against European settlers. Jundamurra lead a guerrilla war for three years against the police and the European settlers to defend his land and people. He was famous for his hit and run tactics and his vanishing trick almost made him a legend. There was a famous accident when a police patrol followed him to his hideout however when they arrived at the entrance, Jundamurra mysteriously disappeared and was no where to be seen. When the British arrived they started to capture some the people in the Bunuba tribe, build large station on the Bunuba land, over fishing and clearing land. This made Jundamarra and the Bunuba tribe angry so they resist the European settlers and started to fight back. Jandamarra was important to the Aboriginal because he helped them resist the European settlers by leading them to fight with them (known as the Bunuba war), help freed the captured Bunuba tribe. The European policemen was also surprised at Jandamarra when he does a surprise attack and then disappear without a trace. They were also impressed with his ability to cross through the rugged rangeds with sharp rocks without injuring himself when the sharp rocks shreds the boots of the policemens. The Aboriginal people was surprised by Jandamarra because of his hit and run tactic without getting caught by the police. They believed he was not a human but a spirit. They also believed that he could not be defeated by anyone unless they were an Aboriginal with a similar spirit. C Jandamarra was born The first fleet had arrived at Australia. Late 1890s- Jandamarra has become a skilled horsemen and markman also he killed a policemen named Richardson He attacked five white men because they were building a power station on the Bunuba land. Late he confused a police patrol group into a tunnel and disappeared right in front of them. Making them believe that it was his tribes hide out. 1897- Jandamarra led the Bunuba tribe into a gurilla War with the European settlers. 1 st of April The British got an Aboriginal tracker to find Jandamarra and they shot him dead the British cut off Jandamrras head off and sent it to England as a proof he was killed by them. His body was buried in the Boab Tree by his family.
