Moose
FactsAn moose is the
largest species of the deer family.
In Europe they are more commonly
known as Elk.
Moose were successfully introduced in
Newfoundland in 1904.

European Moose
Eastern Moose
Western Moose
Siberian Moose
Alaska Moose
Shiras Moose
LocationNorth America, moose can be found in almost all of Canada and most of Alaska.In Europe, they are found in large numbers throughout Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States.
Yummy!All moose are herbivores.
In order for a moose to maintain it’s body weight it must eat 9,770 calories (50-60
pounds) a day.
SizeOn average, an adult moose stands 6–7 ft.
Males weigh 850–1580 pounds
Females weigh 600–800 pounds.
