What were Library’s like in the past?Libraries were invented before books, and used for storing important records on clay tablets. The most famous ancient library was located in Alexandria, Egypt, started by King Ptolemy I Soter in 200 BC. The first library in the United States was the Boston Public Library.

Later libraries became more modern like when your parents were kids. Then their libraries didn’t have computers and television and e-books.

What are Libraries like now?There are 119,729 libraries in the United States today. Also you can borrow books, magazines, newspapers, movies and CD’s. Some libraries are even on the internet now. Also, some Libraries require membership cards, but some are open to everyone.

There are millions of libraries today across the world, and just think how many there will be in the future.

What will Libraries be like in the future?We don’t really know what libraries will be like in the future. But by interviewing some people here are their guesses. My librarian Mrs. Myers thinks libraries won’t have as many books, and there will be more e-books. Also their might be more technology, and more online libraries instead of public libraries.

As you can see we don’t know what libraries will be like in the future but we might have some true conclusions.
