RESOURCES IN ANN ARBOR

THE ARB (NICHOLS ARBORETUM) Driven by the desire to create a “useful literary

and scientific institution” founders of the University established in 1907 a Botanical Garden and Arboretum on the land located in between Geddes Road and the Huron River (Matthaei par.1).

The Arb serves both as a resource and as a place to host events like weddings by giving visitors the option to rent this beautiful place.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM Built and completed in 1928 to store

the University’s history collections, the museum “offers an array of educational programs and exhibits for both campus and community” (“University” par.1).

• The museum is significant on its own; however with the introduction of over sixty thousand specimens this museum is truly a one of a kind.

MICHIGAN DAILY

• Publishing its first issue on September 29, 1890 the student led news agency works to cover the “University’s campus, administration, sport teams, faculty and culture, as well as the town of Ann Arbor and other topics” that are directly related to students (“Michigan Daily” par.1).

• The Michigan daily’s office should definitely be visited by those who wish to pursue a career in a news agency due to the fact that it contains many knowledgeable reporters who have tremendous expertise.

ART MUSEUM • Completed in 1910, the University of

Michigan Museum holds the nation’s oldest art collection for a major university.

• With over eighteen thousand artworks representing the one hundred and fifty years of art collecting this museum is for sure the place to go to when at the university.

• We were amazed at the level of creativity that existed within the building and for sure would recommend others to the museum.

ART FAIR Established in1960 as the original of the four fairs,

the Ann Arbor Street Fair has for over fifty five years delivered to the people creative pieces of work that have long existed to reveal the beauty of what creativity can achieve.

The results showed that most people believe that the Art Fair is more enjoyable and fun than any other of the listed resources.

Based on the results it seems that more people are likely to join outdoor events rather than Museums.

SURVEY RESULTS

CONCLUSION The resources located here in Ann Arbor are

wonderful places. Our group came to the conclusion that the Art fair is most interesting due to its spectacular design and creative content.

To conclude, all of the resources here are spectacular and we would definitely recommend everyone to come stop by Ann Arbor and experience all that exists within this vibrant city.
