Kiwanis Trivia
April Trivia question: Which of the followingcelebrities were never members of Kiwanis Key Club
while in High School?
1. Elvis Presley 4. Bill Clinton2. Joe Namath 5. Tom Cruise
3. Lisa Simpson 6. Tommy John
Answer to the March Trivia Question: The original
Kiwanis charter was issued in Detroit, Michigan onJanuary 21, 1915. Allen Browne was the founder and
legally owned Kiwanis until 1919.
ECO-Tip: Its Good to be Old News
If US citizens recycled just 10% of old newspapers,
approximately 25 million trees would be saved
annually. About 75% of what we throw out could berecycled into tomorrows news, books and household
paper products. ECO-tip: Once youre done reading a
book, donate it or sell it to a secondhand shop or usedbookstore. It takes 28% less energy to recycle than to
produce paper from scratch. Paper accounts for 40% of
solid waste in the United States, which is about 72million tons annually. (Now, that's a lot of old news!)

Bishop Sullivan Center was created in 1972 under the
name of Cooperative Social Services. Three Catholicparishes in the northeast part of Kansas City created the

operates two food pantries, a soup kitchen, employmentservices, a clothes closet and financial emergency
