DOTE TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR PRINCIPALS AND PLACEMENT OFFICERS

SKCET SHOWCASES THE EXPERIENTIAL SHARING ON „MEASURES TO THRIVE,

NOT JUST SURVIVE‟ AT STATE LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAMME

Training programme for Principals and Placement Officers of Engineering Colleges

and Polytechnic Colleges is being organized at Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher

Education(TANSCHE) by Directorate of Technical Education(DOTE), Chennai on 26 th

and 27th August 2019.

This training programme, an event of National importance was inaugurated by

Honourable Minister for Higher Education Thiru.K.P.Anbalagan in the presence of

Thiru.Mangat Ram Sharma I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, Higher

Education department. A special address was delivered by Dr.Mylswamy Annadurai,

Vice President, TNCST. The programme includes a visit to IIT Research Park and MIT-

SIEMENS Skill Training Centre in the afternoon session.

Dr.J.Janet, Principal, SKCET lit the lamp representing the Principals of various Engineering Colleges at the Inaugural ceremony along with Honourable Minister for Higher Education, Thiru.K.P.Anbalagan.





The spotlight of this training programme with special focus to SKCET is that

Principal Madam Dr.Janet was given a special invitation to showcase the Institutional

Best practices which has evolved SKCET to be booming in admissions and placements.

Madam has shared a detailed presentation on the Actions Plans in Practice at SKCET

to instill the scientific approach in this journey of quality engineering education and

thereby enlighten other participating Institutions. Principal presented the best practices

of SKCET in terms of Industry based curriculum, Technology based learning, Flipped

Classroom, Placement iniatives and life at SKCET in general.The presentation was

enhanced with various short Institutional films to showcase the vision and dynamic

leadership of our beloved Chairperson Madam Industry connectivity, Student Best

practices and Industry specific TLP which increased the credibility of SKCET at the

State front.

A jubilant moment was witnessed whereby the Principals of other Institutions warmly

appreciated Madam on the successful initiatives implemented at SKCET. Many of the

dignitaries engaged in collegial conversations with Madam to gain impactful pointers in

the Industry connect initiatives. This indeed set the positive tone to wave our SKCET

flag high at this National level training programme.

Dr.Mylsamy Annadurai, Vice President, TNSCST delivered the key note address. It was

an applausive moment wherein he appreciated our college ambience and virtual classroom

learning.

STUDENT ACCOLADES AT SAE EVENT

BEST MANEUVERABILITY AWARD - SAE SKCET TEAM HARVOX

A Team of 25 students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical

and Communication Engineering representing SAE INDIA SKCET Collegiate Club

participated in National Level Tractor Design Competition 2019 organised by SAE

INDIA Southern Section held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology during 22 - 24th

August 2019. There were static events like technical inspection, presentation and

dynamic events like maneuverability, durability, gradient parking test. Our SAE Team

HarvOx got National Level Second Place with a best timing of 3 minutes 14 seconds

and also received a cash prize of Rs.15,000/- in the maneuverability test,.

HOD INTERACTION- CSBS

The students of II CSE C (TCS) had an interactive session with Dr.S.Balakrishnan, Head of

the Department, CSBS and Mrs. G. Ignisha Rajathi, Tutor towards their motivation and

outcome of the 9 peer groups formed. The students affirmed the usefulness and team spirit

developed by this ideology and assured to reach high in CIA-II.

V.Karthik, ECE has participated in Entrepreneurship Quiz competition conducted by

MYGOV and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

HOD INTERACTION - EEE

Dr.K.Lakshmi, Head of the Department, EEE addressed the Second year students. The

students were briefed about the importance of CIA II coaching class and were also motivated

to participate in paper presentation, workshops project contest and hackathons in premier

institutions.





EXTENDED HOUR COACHING CLASS - CSE

As a counter measure taken on the CIA 1 test performance of the students, special coaching

class for the subject "Object Oriented Programming in Java" was conducted for the

Second year CSE students by Dr.D.Surendran, Department of Computer Science

Engineering.





NISF PROJECT DEMO - EEE

Department of EEE conducted a demo session for the NISF shortlisted teams to be held at

CODISSIA Coimbatore from 29th to 31st August 2019.In this regard, various inputs were

given by the faculty members to the students to improve their models. The teams shortlisted
