WhAT TO DO? One of the most fun and popular things to do in the Cayo district is to go cave-tubing through some of the many awe-insipiring caverns. You can drive straight to the caves near to Belmopan, where most of the cave-tubing tours go from. At the entrance to the caves

from the road you will find several freelance cave-tubing guides who can assist you with your tour.Cave-tubing is incredible, and it’s just what it sounds like: you are floating on a large rubber inner tube down the rivers that run through the caves. You will have headlamps for the dark sections; although as some guides will encourage you to do, you might find yourself turning them off and floating along in the

serenity of pitch darkness. You will be about a good hour or so on the water, so just expect slight bumps along the way over certain shallow, rocky areas, where sometimes the current runs more rapidly. But hey, this is part of the adventure, isn’t it?Your journey will take you through a labrynth of caves, each dark and mysterious, but filled with wonderful discoveries.
