Finished size: 29 1/2" x 54"; fits 1" round rod Materials Needed: Apple Orchard Large Whole Apples Fabric VIP #61141-J 1 3/4 Yds Apple Orchard Apple Slices Fabric VIP #61142-Z 1 3/4 Yds Iron-On Medium Weight Interfacing 1 3/4 Yds Grosgrain Ribbon 1/2 Yd Buttons 1" 6 Note: Adjust yardage based on your window dimensions. 1. Measure the length and width of the inside of the window frame and add 1/2" to these measurements. 2. Cut one panel from each fabric and the interfacing the size measured. 3. Iron the interfacing following manufacturer’s directions to the wrong side of the whole apple panel. 4. Mark 2" down from the sides of the top of the fabric. This will be for the casing. Mark the center and 1" in from each side on the bottom of the panel. Cut 3-4 1/2" pieces of ribbon. Make a loop and sew to the right side of the bottom of the panel centering on your marks with the raw edges even. Illustration 1 5. With right sides sew the two panels together starting at the 2" mark on the side, sewing down the side across the bottom, leaving a 6" opening for turning and up the other side to the 2" mark. Sew across the top. Illustration 2 6. Turn, press and hand sew the bottom opening closed. 7. With a disappearing ink pen or light pencil mark draw a line from the 2" mark across the fabric to the other 2" mark. Sew across this line to form the casing for the rod. 8. Sew the 6 buttons to the front of the window treatment. Sew 3 buttons across the top and 3 buttons halfway down aligning them with the loops. Illustration 3
