Butterflies with cooked brass thread and nylon stockings Filo d’ottone cotto e farfalle con le calze di nylon colorate

What you need:

* thin golden string * cooked brass wire, 0.05 mm in diam. and very thin wire * white crepe paper * 1 big and 1 small felt-pen as moulds for the wings * very small pieces of glass jewellery or glitter * coloured nylon stockings Che cosa ti serve:

* cordoncino dorato * filo d’ottone cotto dia. 0,05 e filo di ferro sottile * carta crespa bianca * pennarelli grande e piccolo come stampo per le ali * brillantini o adesivi argentati * calze di nylon colorate

Butterfly’s body: make it with a piece of brass wire, 0.05 mm in diam. and 15 cm long. Make a small ring or loophole on the end: figs. 1 and 2. Cover it with a strip of white crepe paper, starting from the small loophole and a drop of Vinyl glue. Fold 2.5 cm of the stem back on itself: fig. 3. Insert the thin golden wire into the loophole as shown in fig. 2, then wrap it around the body 3 times: fig. 3.

Corpo della farfalla: lo realizzi con un pezzo di filo d’ottone del diametro di mm. 0,05 e lungo cm. 15 alla cui estremità fai un cerchietto: fig. 1 e 2. Lo ricopri con una striscia di carta crespa bianca a partire dal cerchietto con una goccia di Vinavil. Ripiega 2,5 cm di gambo su se stesso: fig. 3. Inserisci nell’asola il cordoncino dorato come indica la fig. 2 e, avvolgilo intorno al corpo per 4 giri: fig. 3.

Fold the loophole again on top of the golden wire and twist it all 4 more times: fig. 4. Lastly, pass the thin wire to the inside of the brass wire loophole and pull it to the outside to make the second feeler: fig. 4. With some square pliers, tie the loophole and fold the stem as shown in fig. 5.

Butterfly arrangement: a) join the wings to the body one by one with the stem folded at right angles: fig. 6. Make sure that the thin wire thread is above the wing fastening when winding them. b) First insert the bigger wings and, under these, insert the smaller ones. c) Tie each wing to the body with one or two twists of wire thread.

Final touches of the butterfly’s stem: a) Cut out the 4 stems of the wings, right under their fastening. b) Use a small strip of nylon stocking of the same colour as the wings, 2 cm high and 6 cm long, and a drop of Vinyl glue to wrap 2 cm. of the stem.

Ripiega ancora l’asola sopra il cordoncino dorato e avvolgi il tutto sempre con il cordoncino dorato per altre 4 volte: fig. 4 Alla fine fai passare il cordoncino all’interno dell’asola di filo d’ottone e fallo uscire all’esterno per formare la seconda antenna: fig. 4. Con la pinza quadrata stringi l’asola e piega il gambo come mostra la fig. 5.

Composizione della farfalla: a) applica al corpo le ali con lo stelo piegato a angolo retto una alla volta fig. 6, facendo attenzione che il filo sottile, avvolgendole, stia sopra la legatura dell’ala. b) Prima inserisci le ali superiori e, sotto quest’ultime, inserisci le inferiori. c) Lega ogni ala al corpo con uno o al massimo 2 giri di filo.

Rifinitura del gambo delle farfalle: a) Ritaglia i 4 gambi delle ali, subito sotto la loro legatura. b) Con una strisciolina di calza dello stesso colore delle ali, alta 2 cm e lunga 6, rivesti 2 cm. di stelo con l’aiuto di una goccia di Vinavil.

Applicazioni: *la farfallina può essere utilizzata da mettere tra i capelli legata su una molletta; * 2 altri modi per creare i corpo delle farfalle. * per confezionare dei pacchetti dono; * come fiori in un vaso; * se vuoi utilizzare le farfalle come spille da mettere sugli abiti, devi modellare lo stelo del corpo a serpentina per poter applicarvi una spilla: fig. 7. * Ecco una grande libellula con la testa di pallina da carnevale. * Palloncini da mettere sull’albero di Natale. * Pesciolini dipinti con i pennarelli indelebili.
