Interviews with delegates

What does EYP mean to you?

- Experience, community, full of bright and interesting people. In that place you feel so comfortable about everything.

What were your expectations before coming to the session?

- Actually, I didn’t imagine getting something more than discussions and debate skills. Maybe meeting new interesting people and having plans were in my mind, but just as a wish. Now I can surely say I got all of it.

How do you manage to work with each other during team work?

- EYP is more about team work itself rather than finding solutions to problems. At first, step chairpersons doing their best to figure out the leadership skills of delegates and that helping to manage the way of acting, working with each other.

Agahuseyn Shiraliyev from CULT.

By Esra Solhi.

What is the main purpose for you to participate in EYP?

To be better than before and to contribute something while I learn new information and skills.

Which part of EYP is the most exciting?

The exciting part is where you share your opinion and hear new information from creative minds which makes you think from different prospective.

What did you learn during this session?

I learnt how to work in diversity, how to respect each other’s opinion and how tolerance can make our lives and daily activities easier.

o How can you define #EYPspirit?

#EYPspirit – It means so much things, expressions, emotions. It is sometimes strict, sometimes funny. Too many youngsters come together, aaand boooom. You make fun, disappoint, feel proud simultaneously. That is EYP spirit !

o What is your after session expectation ?

As an ambitious girl, I expect to use the experience and skills that I have gained here for further personal development, other kind of activities “Keep on Moving !!!” I am sure that some of the delegates have made long –term friendship here, so these relations will continue after the session absolutely. I hope EYP will continue to grow and attract energetic & smart youngsters.

o Do you have any idea about #PED ? (Post EYP Depression )

Of course I have, at least from my Model UN experiences. You begin to see clearly the emptiness in your life, do think that what will I do after this interesting, amazing, memorable event that is full of games, fights (like competition), friendships, funny people, so on. I am sure that everyone will feel that depression. “Sweet Depression “ – shortly.

Interview by Medina Mursagulova

I decided to take an interview from two people of DROI committee: the most and the least experienced delegates- Iryna Bakhcheva and Aydan Dadashova.

Irina

-- What do you study? - Human rights and democratization in Eastern European Partnership Countries- What inspired you to study human rights? - I considered that hr is a fundamental value of any society, thus the protection of human right can lead

to more developed state and happier citizens of each. That is the main motivation for choosing my profession.

- How can EYP help you in your profession?- I suppose that EYP it’s all about obtaining skills that will help youngsters in their future professional

realization because the communication is the very basis for successful carrier in any sphere. - Did EYP change you somehow?- It makes me more open-minded and richer in a cultural sense. That is the main effect on

multiculturalism. - Do you have any comments about the way session goes?- I guess that I have the best team that was leaded by the excellent, professional and prominent chairs. - What would you like to change here?- The only think I want to change is a sure duration of the session.

Aydan

-how old are you?

-I’m 13.

-you’re so young but despite your age you’re really good at this. How did you get so interested in this theme?

- There are so much fun things that my sister told me about(she is an EYPer too), and I thought I would be like you, guys, someday. First I thought that it’s not for my age, but my sister told me it’s better to start when

Page 5: BUTA - 2nd Issue

you’re young and I was became so excited about my participation. I went to interview and I was so nervous that I started saying everything that I knew and I finally I’m here.

-did you learn something new?

-yes, I learned some new terminology and I heard a lot of different opinions from the others and learned how to play extraordinary EYP games.

-was it hard to work with other delegates in your committee?

-not actually but since I’m the youngest in my committee , first time that I came here I didn’t know anyone and was very shy and asking myself why am I here but now I have friends here and we’re working together, laughing and joking with each other.

-were they listening to your opinion?

-yes of course they were so kind to me and I really liked how they listened to me that’s why I felt we were equals and that made me really happy. I started feeling really comfortable around them.

-who do you want to become in future?

-I thought that business and management would be my thing. I like working with numbers.

-do you want to change something in the way this session goes?

-everything is perfect so I wouldn’t change a thing because it’s so interesting and we are really having fun.

Interview with Orga Team- In November it will be 5 year of functioning of EYP Azerbaijan. What in your opinion it has gained through all this years?

- Today EYP Azerbaijan is proud of all his members who are very smart, intelligent, active youth and the most amazing is that all of them are friends and family. Moreover, as an organization, EYP Azerbaijan is now more experienced, developed crucial organizing skills, academic background. I also could tell you about the schools, universities, which are over interested in cooperation with us, as EYP Azerbaijan has proven itself as a serious NGO. But the main thing about EYP is people. People who come once and stay with us, people, who leave after some time, but still leave a part of their heart here.

Well, what is in your opinion the most exciting thing about EYP?

Page 6: BUTA - 2nd Issue

- Fascinating team spirit, when each one is ready to help in order to achieve the common goal. And of course friendship and lots of fun.

And what is the hardest moment for you?

- Speaking frankly, the hardest for me is workload, when you have to work non-stop under the stressful conditions and always be ready to receive a new task in 3 o’clock in the morning as all this is happening in the short deadlines. But still all of us enjoy every moment of being here.

Please share your opinion on this session

- Well, at first, when we were selected as Head organizers for the RSM, we decided to rise the limits of EYP Azerbaijan events to the highest top and set a goal to make this session the best one for each participant, the delegates, the officials and even guests. So, observing what is going on now, we can say that we almost achieved the initial aim and we hope that everyone is happy.

And last but not least, describe EYP in one word?

- Tremendous- Miracle- Marvelous- Magnificent- Youth - Opportunity - Universe- Happiness.

Interview with Narmin Mammadova

What is your personal feedback about the Regional Session of EYP on Multiculturalism?

For me EYP is all about people. After interviews and during the session I understood that the delegates are very well prepared academically and are really strong. I made my personal research if these delegates are satisfied with the session. The positive feedback of these people made me very happy and proud. The is why we do EYP for.

What is the main challenge you face as the President of EYP?

I would like to keep it secret. Although there is one thing I can share. The hardest for me is always the randomness of tasks. No matter where you are and what you are doing, you have to find time and accomplish them.

How would you like to see the delegates and officials of EYP?

No matter what position they have, the delegate or even the vice president, I want to see them interested in EYP, working together for the same aims and see the sparkle in their eyes as on their very first session.
