What are the aims for Induction Week?

• To welcome you, help you to meet other students and staff

• To prepare you for your first week of study• what is it going to be like?• where do I need to be?• have I done everything I need to do?

• Let you know about all the opportunities available to you as an Undergraduate Business School student

• Get to grips with the Brookes language and how things work here!

Some quick basics….

• The academic year consists of two Semesters • 12 weeks each semester• Exam period afterwards (do not book holidays or flights

home until you know your exam schedule!)

• Your classes start next week (Monday 27th Sept)• Timetables are available after you enrol tomorrow (see your

coloured ticket for times)• PLEASE double check your timetable before classes next

week as your timetable (rooms, times) may change

• Don’t worry if you feel slightly confused during induction week…..

Student Support Co-ordinators (SSCs)• Cathy Wilson-Jones and Michelle Hicks• They are your first port of call if you have any problems,

questions or queries

Academic Advisers (AAs)• They will help you with any academic matters/issues• You will find out who your AA is once you enrol

Field Chairs• Help manage the ‘field’ (subject area)• Provide ‘programme’ (your degree and modules) advice
