AN INTERNATIONAL CULTURE
COPPEAD has always focused on forming and educating managers with international exposure, ready to operate in multicultural environments and to pursue international careers.
Thus, COPPEAD has internationalized by adopting English as the official language of the Full-Time MBA since 2015; and by forming strategic alliances with highly reputed and internationally accredited business schools in the five continents.
Coppead's Full-time MBA Program brings together students from different countries and Brazilians and the the alliances and partnerships contemplate student exchange agreements, visiting professors, study-weeks, dual-degree opportunities and international modules for the Executive MBA Program, among others.
Exchange terms at COPPEAD, when the offer of elective disciplines in English is concentrated, run from approximately early May to early July, from mid July to early October and from mid October to before Christmas. COPPEAD receives exchange students from partner institutions in North & South America, Western & Eastern Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa, fostering a real multicultural environment.
Focusing on regional integration, in 2008, COPPEAD took the initiative to found ALADEN (the Latin American Alliance of Business Schools) with internationally accredited business schools in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela, mainly targeting the understanding of the Latin American business context and wealth creation, in terms of the socio economic development of the home-countries of the five members. The SLAE (Latin-American Study-Week) is offered every year, in Spanish, on a rotary basis by ALADEN member institutions.
Other international partnerships include Dual-Degree agreements with two internationally accredited French business schools for our Executive MBA students, The International Consortium of Executive MBA programs (an 8-day module offered simultaneously by the partner schools located in Europe, North America, South Africa, Latin America and Asia) and the International Practicum for Full-time MBA students (a one-week intensive program together with a US partner, where students work together in consultancy projects for Brazilian or international companies)

The Full-time MBA (M.Sc.)
COPPEAD's Full-time MBA, a post-experience 18 months and 700hrs tuition free program, is a hybrid model comprising the main features of Academic and Professional Masters. The program emphasizes the theory/practice and research/application perspectives with a focus on best practices in management at the national and international levels. As of 2015, English is the main language of instruction, making the program an attractive option for high-potential international students.
This model combines a generalist approach with a specialization resulting from the specific research field chosen for the dissertation (an additional requirement in order to be awarded the M.Sc. degree, which can extend the duration of the program to totalize, approximately, 24 months). The concentration areas offered by the program are: Finance & Managerial Control; Marketing & International Business; Operations, Technology & Logistics and Organizations, Strategy & Information Systems.
In order to provide students with a solid business education, integrating the different functional areas, the program employs a diversified methodological approach that includes case studies, computerized business simulations, role-plays and participation in consulting projects, among others.
The Full-time MBA also has an exchange program with partner schools in the five continents; a summer-job or internship program; a job market re-entry week with the participation of top national and multinational companies; the SLAE (Latin American study-week) to acquire knowledge of the Latin American business environment; a careers office that organizes lectures, counseling, group activities & individual assessment; multicultural projects; opportunities to participate in research groups and in international business competitions.
This program designed to comply with the highest international standards is recognized as a label in business education in Brazil and, increasingly, in the world thanks to the EQUIS accreditation and to its ranking in the Financial Times.
A PROGRAM FOR EACH PROFILE
COPPEAD offers a large portfolio of programs comprising degree-granting programs and executive education programs some including dual–degree opportunities and international modules with internationally accredited Business Schools.

Rio de Janeiro: Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea
has been inscribed upon the World Heritage List of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Inscription on this List confirms the exceptional universal value of a cultural or natural site, which deserves protection for the benefit of all humanity.
"The listed site consists of an exceptional urban setting rather than built heritage. It encompasses the key natural elements that have shaped and inspired the development of the city: from the highest points of the Tijuca National Park’s mountains down to the sea. They also include the Botanical Gardens, established in 1808, Corcovado Mountain with its celebrated statue of Christ and the hills around Guanabara Bay, including the extensive designed landscapes along Copacabana Bay which have contributed to the outdoor living culture of this spectacular city. Rio de Janeiro is also recognized for the artistic inspiration it has provided to musicians, landscapers and urbanists." UNESCO World Heritage Centre (whc.unesco.org/)
