CONSISTENT PERFORMER
Over the past decade, no small city in
the United States has done a better job
of helping companies relocate and
expand. Statesville has been Site
Selection magazine’s #1 Micropolitan
area 5 of the last 6 years, and 7 of the
past 10 years. That’s a record of
accomplishment you can count on.
WELCOME TO A PLACE THAT’S
THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS.
Statesville, North Carolina is serious about business.
Our success can be seen in the industries that have
chosen to call Statesville home, from Kewaunee
Scientific to Doosan Infracore to Lowe’s Corporate
Aviation.
Our proximity to both Charlotte and Winston-Salem
makes us an entry point to regional, national and global
markets, and our location at the intersection of I-77 and
I-40 puts us within a days trucking of 2/3 of the U.S.

MAJOR INDUSTRY SECTORS
The Statesville area has more than 180 manufacturing and distribution companies representing a wide variety of industry sectors.
METAL FABRICATION
Metal fabricators make up the largest segment of the
industrial market, with a particular emphasis on tube
and pipe fabrication.
AEROSPACE/AVIATION
The Statesville Regional
Airport is home to a number of corporate aviation
operations, including Lowe’s
and Rubbermaid.
AUTOMOTIVE
Two of the five largest manufacturing firms in the
area, ASMO and Engineered Sintered Components, are
Tier One auto parts
manufacturers; a number of smaller firms are also
involved with the automotive
industry.
NONWOVENS

and Burnett as major suppliers of nonwovens
located in Statesville.
LIFE SCIENCES
The new Barium Springs
Technology Park, located less than 30 minutes from
the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, is
designed to be the future hub of Statesville’s growing
life sciences sector.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Statesville’s proximity to east
coast markets and history of
agricultural production and processing makes it a
natural fit for companies in
the food and beverage sector.
Many communities are located near major cities or in
proximity to interstate highways. But Statesville truly is a unique business location; located nearly equidistant between two of North Carolina’s largest cities — Charlotte and Winston-Salem — and at the
intersection of two major interstates — I-40 and I-77.
Charlotte
Winston-Salem
Located 38 miles south of Statesville,
Charlotte is the 18th largest city in the U.S. and a major banking and energy
center.
Located 39 miles east of Statesville,
Winston-Salem is a center of science and medicine; the home of Wake Forest
University and nationally renowned
Baptist Medical Center.
The Statesville region
currently has more than
2 million square feet of available manufacturing
and distribution space,
and nearly 2 thousand
acres of utility-served
industrial sites.
ABOUT INCENTIVES
We understand that financial incentives can be
an important consideration in the site selection process. In addition to the programs offered by the State of North Carolina and Iredell County’s consistently low tax rates: The City of Statesville
and the Town of Troutman both offer programs to companies which locate in those jurisdictions and meet specific guidelines for investment and
job creation.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DEVEL-
Statesville has an outstanding labor force of over
80,000, with more than 12,000 jobs in manufacturing. In all, more than 1.7 million workers live within 40 miles of Statesville. A great strength of the community is our skilled workforce and the customized worker
training programs offered through historic (1854) Mitchell Community College. Over the past 3 years, more than a quarter of a million dollars in training and retraining funds have been allocated through the college
to new and expanding industry in the Statesville region.
Types of training available include:
Lean Manufacturing; Advanced Facilitator; Project Management; Health and Safety; Team Building; Marketing and Sales; Welding; Fork-Lift Operation; Microsoft Office; Analytical Problem Solving; CNC
Skills Assessment and CAD/CAM/CAE.
LOCATION IS THE KEY
