A visit to Michika market, vividly shows the scanty nature of trading at the market, traders say this has been the situation, since their return almost two years now.

I met two women at the Michika market; one of them lost her husband and property, to the Boko Haram invaders.

Kwabyi Tumba, sells onions, she has purchased onions worth three hundred naira, to sell and cater for her five children.

As at 3pm, she had not made any sale, and had been at the market from early morning.

The story is similar, with Kutri Tumba, who relies on proceeds from the sale of four hundred naira Garden eggs, to feed her and children.

People from far and near trooped in and out of the market which holds Tuesdays.

…..VOICE OF BUS CONDUTOR IN THE PARK FADES IN…

Bitrus Dami Mamza, says grains are costly now from their angle, but business is gradually picking up.

Michika, known as a busy town, before the boko Haram attacks and occupation in 2013 and 2014, is yet to return to its former fast pace of activities.

Previously, the busy Bama road in Michika that links Adamawa and Borno state and Chad Republic was always open, now the road is closed at 7: pm and opened at 6: am by the Nigerian army.

This has no doubt affected the Economic activities in the local Government.
