'Bus Stop' To Open Tonight In Fine Arts
Company '63 begins its season of summer theatre at 8 p.m. today when William Inge's "Bus Stop" opens at the Fine Arts Theatre.

An uproarious Broadway comedy by William Inge is scheduled to start a four-day run next Wednesday at the Fine Arts Theatre. "Bus Stop" opens at 8 p.m. June 19 and plays Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A matinee showing will be held at 2 :30 p.m. Thursday, June 20.
Tickets for the show are $1 at the University Union Lobby Shop Desk. Students will be admitted with ID Cards.
"Bus Stop" is the first of three ~hows presented by Company '63 m connection with E'astern's program of summer theatre. The shows will be directed by E. Glendon Gabbard, professor of speech. Edmund Roney, substitute assistant professor of speech, is technical director, and Ann Smith, instructor of speech, is costumer.
."Bus Stop" will be produced wIth modern costumes and set in arena theatre. The show will be p!ayed to an audience on three SIdes of the action.
Cast in "Bus Stop" are Philena Werden as the young waitress, EIma Duckworth; Nancy Coe, who plays Grace Hoyland, owner of ~he re~taurant; Bill Ozier as SherIff WIll. Masters; Judy Williams as Chene the Chanteuse.

will continue its four-day run tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. A matinee at 2 :30 p.m. tomorrow is scheduled.
Reserve tickets for the play are on sale at the University Union Lobby Shop Desk. Adult admission to the play is $1. Students will be admitted with ID cards.
Set In Grace's Diner "Bus Stop" is a modern play
set in Grace's Diner on a Kansas bus route. Eastern's production of the comedy will be staged in arena theatre, or "theatre of the round," where the audience is seated on three sides of the action of the play, according to Edmund Roney, technical director of summer theatre.
Company '62 used this staging method in its production of "Arms and the Man" by George Bernard Shaw.
Costumes used in "Bus Stop" have sent Ann E. Smith, Company's '63's costumer, from the campus cops to the cafeteria for uniforms. Cowboy boots, mackinaws and stetsons have been rounded up from local "cowboys" throughout the Charleston area.

Two more summer theatre productions will be presented by Company '63. J ames Thurber's "Carnival" is scheduled for July 10-13. "The Crucible" by ,Arthur Miller will be presented July 31-Aug. 3.
