Important news
We are delighted to announce that Burlish Park Primary has been selected as Signal

Dicky Dodd (radio DJ) came into school and talked to a selection of children who will be
on air w/c 20th April everyday at 8.30am. Please listen out for them.
Changes to the Stourport Oscars
As many of you know, the Stourport Oscars is a ceremony that rewards 100%
attendance. Previously and for 2015, attendance has been measured from September
to May. However, from May 2015 attendance will be measured from May to May. It
would be lovely to see many pupils from Burlish receiving their certificate.
Illness
Please could we remind parents to phone school on the morning of their child’s illness
and provide a letter on return to school. Many thanks.
Uniform
Remember, you can now order your uniform for September from the school office.
Children in Year 3 onwards, please wear a V-neck jumper and tie.

Little Owls Farm
On Tuesday 17th March the Nursery
children visited Little Owls Farm. We learnt
more about farm animals to support our
topic. We enjoyed hands on experiences
feeding and stroking the animals. We were
fortunate to see a number of baby animals.
Oscar Griffiths said “it was funny when the
piglets came running to get their food. I fed
them with a bottle.”
Olivia Smith said “ I liked the baby chick. I
picked it up and it nearly pecked my nose.”
Tia Jones said “ I liked feeding the lamb
milk. It made my arm shake.”
Jaiden Wilson said “ My favourite was the
ride on tractors.”
Thank you to the Nursery staff

Sports News Dance Festival A huge congratulations to all those pupils who performed to such a high standard at the Stourport Schools' Dance Festival on Tuesday night. It was a great evening which showcased the talent the pupils have in Stourport. Burlish performed two dances and were once again left in charge or the mass warm up which the year 6 girls organised independently and very professionally. County Cross Country On a very wet Friday 13th March, four pupils form Burlish were part of the Wyre Forest District team who competed in the County Cross Country event at The Wyre Forest. All the pupils performed well and should be very proud of their achievements. Congratulations to Dan Houghton, Ella Dew, Skye Owen and Max Sellick.
Thank you Mr Lindley What should go into a healthy lunchbox?
A healthy packed lunch should include:
• A good portion of starchy food, e.g.
wholegrain roll, tortilla wrap, chapatti, pitta
pocket, pasta or rice salad;
• A portion of lean meat, fish or alternative, e.g.
chicken, ham, beef, tuna, egg, beans or
hummus;
• Plenty of fruit and vegetables, e.g. an apple,
satsuma, handful of cherry tomatoes or carrot
sticks, small tub of fruit salad or small box of
raisins;
• A portion of semi-skimmed milk or other dairy
food, e.g. reduced fat cheese, yogurt or
fromage frais;
• A drink of water.
Drinks in School As the Summer Term is fast approaching with hopefully some warm weather, we would like to remind our pupils about staying hydrated at school. Pupils should only have water to drink and water should be bought to school in bottles that have a sports top to them, to avoid too many spillages! Healthier Packed Lunches Bored of making cheese sandwiches? Can't think of some healthy ideas to put in your child's lunchbox. Why not try out some of these ideas next term. Let's try to make the dinner hall at Burlish Park a healthy environment.
