PILLAR 1 – TEACHER TEAMS
▪ 9th grade – EWI & Interdisciplinary Meetings /Teachers developed team roles & definitions
▪ Lots of professional learning opportunities where teachers and staff participated in teams – including coaching, 9th grade retreat, etc.
▪ Building Capacity of Dept. Chairs as PLC leaders and having them grow their departments.
▪ Diplomas Now Team modeled team roles and expectations.▪ Opportunities to learn and grow.
▪ Teachers support what they help create
PILLAR 2 –PROFESSIONAL LEARNING, CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
▪ Burbank’s major focus has been C&I /Professional Learning – Immediate focus = Shifting from Teaching to Learning/ LITERACY Across the Curriculum
▪ STAAR EOC FOCUS - Using data to make instructional decisions.
▪ Addressing the culture of an organization/classrooms changes outcomes for students – Love the kids and they will learn.
