Clean Up Australia Day
On Friday all the classes cleaned up a part of
the school as their contribution to Clean Up
Australia Day. The clean-up was a success
and our school is looking great and rubbish
free. Most classes filled an entire bag of
rubbish that each class was given which was
pretty gross and disappointing but the school
is liking much better now as everyone took
their part.
Most students didn’t like doing it which is
understandable but knowing that they made
the school clean they should be really happy
with themselves..
I think Clean Up Australia Day in school is a
great idea because it makes the schools in
Australia much cleaner and it encourages kids
to do their part.

GRIP Year 6 Leadership Day
The excursion for GRIP was held in Goulburn
on Monday, March 4. GRIP is a leadership day
which many schools attend to do team building
and leadership activities. It is an important day
for Year 6s to attend. They get to learn and im-
prove non their team building and leadership
skills, make new friends from other schools and
have some fun. Most of the Year 6s went to
GRIP and got to learn these skills.
Is it a great opportunity for our Year 6s who this
year were supervised by Mr Brothers, Ms
Boardman, Mrs Jackson and Mrs McGillion.
I think GRIP sounds amazing and I can’t wait to
do it myself next year.

BPS Gazette Club
Bungendore newspaper club has started up this year again and there are quite a few people interested. As
always Ms Forman is running it and this year the members are all students that are news to writing re-
ports and stories.
The students who have joined so fare are Chelsea, Tilly, Peyton, Charlotte, Cameron, Maria,, Nicole,
Kyran, Macey, Molly, Matthew and me.
This year we are aiming to write reports to put in the local newspaper which will be about things happen-
ing around the school and some big stories outside.
Personally, I’m really looking forward to this year in the newspaper club and I think everyone else is as
well.

GROK Coding Competition
The GROK coding competition started this week and a bunch of students have joined. Mrs Donaldson said
it is the first time Bungendore has entered so it is new for everyone. The competition is to create a website
using coding. GROK gives us images and information and we have to make a website out of that. There is
coding class once a week where we learn different types of codes and how to use them. Some of the codes
are difficult to understand but most covers are on their way. I think it is a great way of learning, we get to
move at our own pace and it is lots of fun attending with friends.

Reading in the Wild
My job was to interview Mrs. Donaldson and the library monitors about Reading In The Wild. This is what they said: Molly: I think it’s fun to be reading outside because it’s like you’re actually in the wild Emily: Reading in the wild is fun, educational and it’s so you can connect with people. Christina: I believe that it’s good for people who want to learn to read, especially the kindys. Imogen: I think that it’s a good thing for the kindys who don’t know how to read yet. Kyran: Reading in the wild is fun, educational and people have a great time. Tilly: It’s fun because you get fresh air and books to read. Chris: People like to read and it’s fun. Reading in the Wild started at Bungendore Public School last week and will take place on a reg-ular basis during second half lunch on Wednesdays for all students who are interested.
Teacher librarian Mrs Donaldson explained that she came across the idea recently and the aim was to encourage more readers from K-6. “I spoke to a teacher on the school holidays and she said that her school reads books outside so I asked Mrs Lloyd who also thought it was a great initiative,” Mrs Donaldson said.
“I decided to call it ‘Reading In The Wild’.”
