Christmas Party Date Change

Thanks Dean and Best EmploymentAs you may have noticed, the school grounds are looking amazing! A big thank you to Dean and the team from Best Employment who have worked hard to improve the aesthetic appeal of the school in recent months. The grounds are not only looking great, there is a lot of work underway to improve the functionality and access for all students around the different areas.

We have decided to change the date for our Family Christmas Party to Saturday 10 December. All families are invited to come along to the school and enjoy some musical entertainment and a BBQ to get into the Christmas spirit from 6-9pm.

Thanks to Atcall Safety for our high vis vests for staff on playground duty. Our new vests will allow students to locate staff quickly should they need assistance during play time. There are always four staff on duty supervising all areas of the playground. Our new safety vests will ensure our playgound is a safe place for our students.

Class 1Pig the Pug

Over the last 2 weeks, Class 1 has been doing a literacy unit on Pig the Pug. We have written sentences, created artwork and made a “Pig the Pug” window display. We discovered that “Pig” was not a very good friend and would not share his toys. The class’ favourite page was “Pig” falling out the window and discovering that “Pigs cannot Fly”.

Communication at Bullimbal School

At Bullimbal our priority is for all our students to become independent communicators. Our goal is for all students to be able “to communicate whatever they want, to whomever they want, whenever they want.” Bullimbal School Plan, 2015-2017

As part of this communication journey a number of students have been provided with customised complex Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems to allow them to further develop their skills in communicating. In the photo you can see Luke and Jayden using their communication books. Next time you visit the school please come and have a look at the great work our students are doing as they progress toward becoming independent and autonomous
