Scripture Reading: .............................................Pastor Elliot SmithThen I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those wholive on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear Godand give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship Him who made theheavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.A second angel followed and said, “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nationsdrink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its imageand receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His wrath. They will be tormented with burningsulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will riseforever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image,or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of thepeople of God who keep His commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

Prayers of the People.........................................................................................Kaitlyn Beck

We Present Our Tithes and OfferingsOffertory Anthem: arr. W. M. Schoenfeld....Choir

Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee. Take my moments and my days, let them flowin ceaseless praise. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet andlet them be swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my voice and let it sing, always only, for my King.Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee. Take my will and make it Thine, it shallbe no longer mine. Take my heart, it is Thine own, it shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love, myLord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store. Take myself and I will be ever, only all for Thee.

Worship Notes:Participants: Dr. Karl Haffner, our senior pastor, presents today’s sermon. Kasper Haughton, our pastorfor children and youth, hosts today’s service. Elliot Smith, our pastor for young adults, interns and outreach, presents today’s scripture. Kaitlyn Beck, our summer intern for children’s ministries, presents the Prayersof the People. Jerry Taylor, our minister for worship and music, is the organist and Summer Choir director.

As we gather for worship we hear three American Hymn Tunes. originated as a Shakertune with a 1963 text by the English writer Sydney Carter. , is heard in anarrangement by American organist, Harold De Cou, was from a Gospel hymn written in 1905 by two Americansongwriters, lyricist Civilla D. Martin and composer Charles H. Gabriel. is heardin an arrangement by Portland, Oregon composer, Dan Miller, from a poem written in 1923 by Thomas O.Chisholm.

and are sung today alternatingbetween the hymns. (Hymn No. 422) was written in 1902 by Isaac Watts. In 1867, RobertLowry added the Refrain and a new tune. Siyahamba is a South African hymn that became popular in NorthAmerican churches in the 1990s. The title means "We Are Marching” in the Zulu language. Singing a hymnfrom Europe that has been rewritten in America in juxtaposition with virtually the same hymn with SouthAfrican origins helps us to celebrate being a part of Christ’s people which includes many different cultures, races and people.

is known as the “Three Angels Message” and is the central scripture that is so importantto Seventh-day Adventists.

is an old hymn by Frances Havergal (1836-1879), with a new tune andarrangement written in 1999 for choir and viola by California composer, William M. Schoenfeld (b. 1949).Elizabeth Wareham, a sophomore at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, is the viola soloist.

(Hymn No. 494) the text of this hymn was adapted from a popular novel written inthe 1850’s which is a story of a company of Greeks that went to the Temple at Jerusalem seeking the Lord. The tune was composed for these words is by Franklin Belden who, like his mentor and teacher, EdwinBarnes, was very active in creating hymnals for the early Adventists at the “Dime Tabernacle” in Battle Creek. As happened so many times with the early church leaders, a “misunderstanding” between Belden and theAdventist leaders arose and, although Belden never actually dropped membership with the Seventh-dayAdventist church, he eventually went elsewhere for worship and employment.

is the story of the 10 virgins waiting for the bridegroom to return. Thispiece was the centerpiece of Bach’s and Bach himself transcribed and published this piece fororgan solo. The hymn that this Cantata and organ voluntary is based upon is in our Hymnal No. 210.

Working on the Puzzle of AdventismFinal study in series:

I. Puzzled by Puzzle Lovers

II. The Puzzle Pieces of AdventismThe Bible is the _________________________ and provides the best picture wehave of _______________.(John 1:1-4) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word wasGod. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothingwas made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

Eternal life is possible only through ____________, the ____________________.(1 John 5:11-12) God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Sonhas life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

__________ loves you and has a _________ for your __________.(Psalm 139:1—2, 13-14) O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when Isit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar…. For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfullymade; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Jesus wants to spend __________ with you in a _______________ way.(Revelation 3:20) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opensthe door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Jesus is concerned with the ____________________________________________.(1 Corinthians 3:16-17) Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’sSpirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple issacred, and you are that temple.

III. The Puzzle Solved(1 Corinthians 13:12, NLT) Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial andincomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

The 28 Fundamentals: 1. The Holy Scriptures; 2. The Trinity; 3. God the Father; 4. The Son; 5. The Holy Spirit;6. Creation; 7. The Nature of Man; 8. The Great Controversy; 9.
