HELP A MOTHER CHOOSE LIFE!
From Life Choices Resource Center If you have not returned your baby bottle with a contribution to the pro‐life collection, you may do so now that the public celebration of Mass has resumed. We thank everyone who
has thus far participated in the Baby Bottle Campaign for your generosity. Your gift will make a difference in the life of a mother and child! www.LifeChoicesRC.com.
BOXED ENVELOPES
We will soon be in the process of preparing our year 2021 boxed envelopes for registered parishioners. You must be registered to receive envelopes. If you did not use your
2020 envelopes a minimum of 10 times during the past year, envelopes will not be reissued to you. Besides assisting with the regular financial support of your parish, your usage of envelopes also helps record your Mass attendance. This, in turn, helps the pastor to better verify your level of commitment to the parish when requesting sponsorship certificates. Participation in the envelope system is also necessary for the parish office to be able to issue statements for IRS purposes. As a reminder, loose cash offerings at Mass cannot be traced to any individual and therefore not considered for an end of year statement of charitable contribution. We suggest to ALWAYS use your offering envelopes. Alternatively, there are blank envelopes available in the church vestibule, where you can fill in your name so your donation can be properly posted to your account. If you are not receiving envelopes or if you have any questions, please contact the parish office at 732‐566‐9334 or email us at [email protected]. Thank you.
BLOOD DRIVE
Most Holy Redeemer saves 189 lives with blood drive. The parish community turns out in force to help others during pandemic. Over 55 blood donors came out to support the Most Holy Redeemer blood drive on
Thursday with their lifesaving blood. One unit of blood can help up to three difference patients so 189 lives will be impacted from this blood drive. The blood supply is at a dangerously low level due to COVID‐19 and New Jersey Blood Services in desperately seeking large venues where blood drives can he held while maintaining social distancing. The blood center is unable to run bus drives so it is imperative these sites are found so donors can find a donation location. New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) reports that last summer over 1500 units of blood was donated on bus mobile drives that cannot run this summer to safely social distance. So, thank you, Most Holy Redeemer, for hosting your blood drive.
PRAYER IN TIME OF OUR COMMON NEED
In response to the spread of COVID – 19 within our communities
Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey
Our Lady of Guadalupe, mother of God and of the people of Metuchen you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and hope.
We rely on you, Health of the Sick, you who, at the cross, united with Jesus’ pain,
keeping steadfast your faith You, Salvation of God’s people,
you know what we need and we are sure that you will provide for us,
as at Cana of Galilee, after the adversity of these days, may joy and celebration return. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father and to do what we are told by Jesus,
who has taken our suffering upon Himself and has burdened Himself with our sorrows
to lead us through the cross, to the joy of resurrection. Amen.
Under your protection, Holy Mother of God, Our Lady of Guadalupe, we seek refuge,
hear our prayer and intercede for us to the Father so that we may be free from every danger,
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
DIOCESE OF METUCHEN
As Catholics, we have an obligation to consider public policy issues in light of the Gospel and the moral and social teaching of the Church. As faithful citizens, we are called to respond in both prayer and action and
consider how public policy can impact our communities, nation and world in the context of Catholic teaching. To provide the faithful of the Diocese of Metuchen with information and resources about issues and affecting public policy and to highlight our lifelong responsibility as Catholics to form our own consciences in accord with the Church’s teaching, the diocese has launched a new webpage: https://diometuchen.org/issues‐and‐action. There you can sign up to receive action alerts directly from the diocese, or sign up to receive alerts directly from the New Jersey Catholic Conference and the USCCB. Visitors to the page can also take action on current pending legislation and can see the latest news affecting public policy in our state, nation and world.
