HOLY HOUR For Priestly and Religious Voca ons

You are invited! (all ages are welcome)

Prayer and Fellowship - 3rd Wed. of every month (08/20/14) from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 3888 Paducah Drive, San Diego CA 92115. Pray with and get to know those who dedicate themselves to Christ through a life of prayer and service. For more in-forma on, call the Office for Voca ons, Diocese of San Diego at 858-490-8346.

A ques on o en asked secretly by many young men is, “How do I know that God is calling me to priesthood?”

Too o en, because of a lack of drama c evidence, many of the subtle hints and gentle nudges which accompany the call to priesthood can easily be overlooked or misin-

terpreted. Reading I Kings (19:11-13) we see that the great prophet Elijah heard God’s call, not in an earth-

sha ering event, a mighty storm or blazing fire, but in a ny whispering sound. So, IF THE NOTION OF

PRIESTHOOD GENTLY PASSES YOUR MIND FROM TIME TO TIME, SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE. IT COULD BE A HINT.

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Ever think about sending your Children to Old Mission

Children who a ended Catholic schools are more likely to prac ce their faith as adults, including... the recep on of the sacraments, receiving the Eucharist, being devoted to Mary,

living a life consistent with Church teachings and helping those in need. These characteris cs are hallmarks of Catholic educa on. Students con nuing their educa on from Catholic

kindergarten through high school are also more likely to pursue religious voca ons.

Raising adults who ac vely prac ce their faith, receive the sacraments, help those in need, consider a voca on....aren't these wonderful reasons to consider sending your son or

daughter to Catholic School? Catholic educa on helps students and families live their faith, embrace the Franciscan ideals of service, prayer and compassion for all life, celebrate

community, and inspires our students to achieve their full poten al as children of God.

The Mission San Luis Rey Parish School, Old Mission Montessori, provides an academic program using the Montessori approach to educa on. The children are engaged in hands-on

experiences that facilitate comprehension and understanding throughout the process of learning, building a solid founda on. It is a program where faith and educa on are not only

combined, but constant.

Come and experience the benefits of a faith-centered educa on! Our parish school, Old Mission Montessori, is enrolling now for the 2014-2015 school year. Call for a tour: Wanda King, Principal, at 760-757-3232 www.omms.org
