First Reading: Genesis 2.7ab, 15, 18-24 – The two become one flesh!

Second Reading: Hebrews 2.9-11 – For the one who sanctifies and those who are

sanctified all have one Father.

OCTOBER ROSARY

The Rosary will be recited each Sunday in October, before the 11 o’clock

mass, led by the members of the Legion of Mary. The Rosary will also be

recited on Tuesdays prior to the 12:10 and 5:15 p.m. masses.

ST. PATRICK'S BASILICA CHOIR

The Basilica Choir welcomes new members with music reading skills and experience in 4

part singing. Please see the Music Director, Kevin Savor, in the choir loft, after any weekend

mass.

SANCTUARY LAMP

The Sanctuary Lamp is a constant reminder of the presence of God in our midst. You may

sponsor the burning of the Basilica’s Sanctuary Lamp for a week to memorialize a departed

loved one, or as a special intention. The stipend is $30.00 and you may make the

arrangements through the parish office. The name of the loved one or the special intention

will be listed in the bulletin (if so desired). Each request will be honoured in the order that

they are received.

ST. GABRIEL PARISH: ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR FALL BAZAAR

St. Gabriel Parish will be hosting its annual fall bazaar this year on Saturday,

November 3 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 2157 Centre Street, Montreal, H3K 1J5 (Charlevoix

Metro.) A variety of booths, antiques and jewelry, books and games, baked goods,

new/unused clothing, Christmas items, children's fish pond, ornaments and more. Light lunch

and snacks, and fun for the whole family. Members of the organizing committee are in need

of prizes for the main raffle and items for baskets that are prepared for prizes. Donations for

the bazaar can be dropped off during office hours, and clearly marked BAZAAR. Please

contact the parish office at 514-937-3597 for delivery/pick up questions.

THE PARISH VITALITY CONFERENCE -COMING NOVEMBER 16 AND 17, 2018

This November will mark the third Parish Vitality Conference here in Montreal, organized by

the Office for English Pastoral Services. In this series, “Leading the Way Together”, we

invite pastors, lay people, parish leaders and parishioners to consider practical ideas, and,

how we can all work together and inspire each other – embracing our mission – which is to

make disciples! Our guest this year is Fr. James Mallon, founder of the JPII Media Institute

and well-known author and speaker on the topics of parish renewal, leadership support and

the New Evangelization. The venue is Loyola High School. The English Speaking Catholic

Council will also be hosting its Catholic Rally on Friday evening, Nov. 16. Stay tuned for

more details!

MONTHLY WOMEN’S DAY RETREAT

The monthly Women’s Day Retreat program will take place on Wednesday, October 17th

at

Villa Saint-Martin, 9451 Gouin Blvd, W., Pierrefonds, (just west of Highway 13).

Registration: 9:15 a.m.. Animator; Sr. Pat O’Neill, SNJM. Thought-provoking presentations

with references to Scriptural passages and the works of renowned spiritual writers; music;

quiet time for personal reflection and prayer; Eucharistic celebration; sharing for those who

wish to participate. ALL women welcome. Please bring a brown bag lunch; coffee and tea

Baptism

Baptisms are celebrated the first Sunday of

each month. Parents and godparents are asked

to attend a preparation course, usually held in

the week before the Baptism. The parents must

be registered members of the parish. Please

contact the Parish office for further details.

Marriages Couples wishing to marry at St. Patrick’s are

asked to contact the Parish office for further

information. The future bride and/or groom

must be a registered parishioner for at least 6

months prior to reserving a date for their

marriage.

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)

Confessions are heard fifteen minutes before

all weekday and weekend masses.

Anointing of the Sick and Communion Calls

If you or a member of your family wish to have

a priest or Eucharistic minister visit, please call

the parish office to make arrangements.

Green-Room Coffee

Coffee is served by volunteers every Sunday

after the 11:00 a.m. Eucharistic celebration

from September to June.

St. Patrick’s Basilica’s sound system is

equipped with an audio system that enables

hearing-impaired worshippers to tune their

digital receiver into the frequency of the system

in order to receive a broadcast of the Mass. If

you wish to avail yourselves of this please

bring your own digital receiver and earphones

and tune into 88.1 FM.
